We tried this on the recommendation of a hotel clerk–glad we did. From the street it’s easy to miss tucked away as it is in a bland strip shopping center. But don’t let the exterior deter you. Inside it’s cozy, with a murmuring buzz and soft lighting. Nice but not pretentious. After the freshly baked crusty bread, we dug into crab stuffed flounder and broiled scallops, each served with fresh asparagus over creamy risotto. I really liked the flounder, but be warned–my wife thought the crab was too, well, crabby. She loved the scallops, though: broiled just right and presented with a pair of roasted pepper (red/yellow) sauces. It’s hard to beat getting near upscale seafood at chain restaurant prices. You could easily spend as much at a chain and not come away with as good a meal. We’ll be back.
Worth the cab ride from downtown! Everything was excellent from the bar service to the dessert service. The menu is pretty extensive too. My Mahi Mahi was the catch of the day along w/the fresh caught shrimp made w/the sweet & spicy appetizer.
Went for dinner with another couple. Ordered Snow Crab, New England Clam Chowder, Pat Frieda Burger and the Choose Two with Scallops and Flounder. The service was very good, knowledgeable staff and attentive. The portions were plentiful and served hot. The only complaint is the rice pilaf was a little dry, but well seasoned. The prices were amazing for the Snow Crab, market price being $23.99 and the amount was more then enough. I will return and recommend.
As a local I think this place is severely overated. The server was rude and poorly trained. Additionally, the food was merely okay, considering the prices. You would be better off going to a real seafood market and purchasing your own seafood to make at home; don’t waste your time with this place.
I normally don’t write reviews.however, this place deserves a two thumbs up. My wife and I came from VA for a meeting and discovered this great place.. We had the cod bites, red pepper crab bisque and tuna steak with spinach and asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. The bisque as good as the ones I’ve had in New England. home made food. Must go if out are in Wilmington..
Last minute large party. We had a party of 18 needing a place to dine. The Cape Fear Seafood company was recommended by a local and turned out to be a great choice. They were able to work us in later in the evening a gave us a good space and excellent service. I thought the menu was perfect for adults and children.
Awesome family destination. I wouldn’t take a date there because of the atmosphere and its not too romantic. However, I would take my family every weekend. Don’t judge this place by the cover. The outside is terrible where the inside makes up for that. Food is the best seafood you can get in wilmington.
