Brunch sucks this SundAy Have. No regular coffee just decaf. And that came in Styrofoam cup. Out of egg whites. Finally have jelly that does not taste like rubber. The Bloody Mary’s are good though.

Chill go-to spot, AWESOME burgers!. I live about 3/4 a mile from this place and just went, what took me so long. its got great outdoor seating and a cool place on the inside – a dive bar type vibe. pretty cool people and ambiance, gave me a good vibe so i instantly liked it. i was recommended to try the burgers. I got the hawiian burger with bacon, pineapple jalepinoes, etc. AMAZING. i got in medium rare and they are not lying – it was pink, juicy and delicious. if you really like a good juicy burger this is the spot. i cant remember eating a burger so fast. Good beers on tap too!people next to me had the spaghetti and meatballs which smelled amazing as well. fairly cheap. highly recommend for a good quick bite in a chill place. note: if your the non-meaty type and dont like pink, get your burger well done. they make em pink and juicy here. burgers for real meat lovers!

Best burgers around, but there’s more…. Easily the best burger I’ve had since moving from NY. What a treat to be able to order med-rare, have it cooked perfectly, and have it taste great on it’s own without having to add ‘stuff’ to give it flavor! And don’t be bashful ordering something you might not in an ordinary ‘pub’. I’ve had the pleasure of Chef John Paul’s talents with special dishes, and have yet to be anything but delighted.

Best burgers in Raleigh. I cannot find a burger that is better than this. it’s been awhile but maybe even better than any I’ve found in NYC. Order it rare as they suggest or medium rare if you are scared of rare meat. SO. GOOD.

This is what a local bar should be like. I have been coming here for years now. This is a wonderful place to come and have a drink and/or something to eat. Now that the traffic circles have been installed, and this short strip of Oberlin Road is not used, the outside seating area has been increased. The staff is friendly. The people are friendly. The food is reliably good. I have not had anything more fancy than a burger or sandwich, but the burgers are real ground steak.I have asked colleagues who wanted to go out for a drink after work to meet there and they were nervous about it. Don’t be scared to come here! You will be pleased that you did!

Place for a drink but maybe not dinner. We tried the Players Retreat for dinner on a Saturday night because we had a buy one get one coupon from an entertainment book. I was surprised when we first walked in because it definitely looked like a dive bar and it was pretty dark inside. It has been in business for a long time, so it has probably not changed much since then. I had the Frenchman chicken sandwich and it was okay, and what I expected to get from there. My husband had the Knockwurst entree that came on a small plate and the first thing we thought was if it was going to be enough food, and for the price, not a lot of bang for your buck. College kids started pouring in midway through our meal and by the end of it, we could see it was definitely a big college hangout. I will say that the service was good and we did like the local NC craft brews on draft, although they could have more of a selection. We’d go back for a drink, but probably not dinner again, maybe we just ordered the wrong things. The burgers are supposed to be good.

Not impressed. The wings were ok, not great. The burger was fine, but certainly nothing to write home about. The meatball sub was good. I definitely would not go out of my way to to go to the Players Retreat.
