Well usually a good place to eat however they were very busy and we sat in the bar area. The waitress was overwhelmed. First of all the tarter sauce was bad and we asked for a cold fresh bottle which was good . However, she put the bad tarter sauce back in the fridge for the next customer. Yikes!! I saw her drop okra on the counter and picked it up and put it on the plate . Also, when checking out, I observed a gentleman in the kitchen handling sliced cucumbers with his bare hands, no gloves whatsoever. I doubt seriously we would return. No excuse for unhealthy food handling.
Every restaurant has its good and bad days and we definitely got here when it was a good day. We went during a 6:30 dinner time rush. Wait was 15 minutes. We got a great table that overlooked the water and the kids got to see some of the great helicopters, osprey and boats. We got a great waitress who was obviously handling multiple tables. She handled our drink orders and brought them pretty quick as well as some hot hush puppies for our table. My wife ordered the grilled mahi, I had the fried shrimp and clam strips, our kids split the shrim and flounder. The shrimp were great and fresh. The flounder was also very tasty and my wife’s mahi was just plain awesome. The clam strips, well they tasted like clam strips! The sides we got were fried okra (fresh and plentiful). Fried squash fresh but a little soggy) and tater baby’s (potato wedges). Overall a great dinner. The only thing lacking the 5 star review would be if the waitress could have checked in on us more for napkins, refills, etc. it seemed pretty busy and they handle crowds very well by bussing tables and sitting everyone so I will definitely be back.
