Terrible owners. The owners of this restaurant treat their employees terribly. Please avoid this overpriced imitation Greek restaurant they care not at all for their customers!!!!

STAY AWAY! Tourists beware!. I live in Pinehurst and continually try to support local restaurants. I will NEVER go back to Theo’s. I’ve dined here with mediocre enthusiasm before. Tonight was the nail in the coffin for this establishment. My meal was extremely overpriced and severely over cooked. I ordered pasta with scallops in a lemon sauce. I was appalled to see four burned scallops and a blob of spaghetti noodles as my $ 24 entree. The waitstaff and manager could have cared less about my displeasure with my meal. Tourists beware! There are many wonderful places to eat here. Theo’s is NOT one of them!

I have never been so disrespected! What was supposed to be a fun night out ended in tears, yelling and a waitress fired. All due to a 45 minute wait on a plate of food after the rest of the table was finished with our meal. The owner himself blamed our waitress and us, the diners for the mishap, and by the time we finally could leave (our credit card and cash were held hostage while he continued to berate us) Theo had resorted to calling us STUPID AMERICANS and WORTHLESS LOCALS!! All we wanted was to pay for what we ate and not what we never even saw…..SAY NO TO THEO!!!!

Four friends and I went to Theo’s for a nice relaxing evening but it ended in tears, yelling, our waitress fired, and the cops called. We had heard the food and atmosphere were great but that Theo, himself, was terrible to his staff. We placed our orders which included drinks, appetizers, and entrees then enjoyed conversation while we waited. The appetizers were delicious and came out in acceptable time. Our entrees were delivered to four of us but not to our fifth party who happened to order swordfish. We all began eating but after 40 minutes and our plates almost clear we inquired about his food. By this time he was no longer hungry but didn’t want Theo to take the money out of our waitress’ pay if it wasn’t her fault. We asked to speak to Theo to ascertain what happened and he became very defensive, rude, and downright nasty. Most of our party were women and felt disrespected. He did comp a bottle of wine to the table of MEN seated behind us.As we were leaving our waitress came rushing out crying stating she was just fired. We were so upset by this that when we tried to talk to him again the cops were called. The food and atmosphere were great but not good enough to ever go back and be treated that way again. I am a local resident but will never support this restaurant until the owner can treat his staff and customers better.

Absolutely Awesome!!!!. Four of us went to Theos Taverna today for lunch. We were greeted warmly, allowed to choose our table by the window, and the server, Donna, was WONDERFUL! We had an appetizer, which was very good and enough for all of us to enjoy. Then we had fresh warm bread with an olive oil dipping sauce. There were three different entrees ordered and they were all delish. The Gyro platter was very appealing and great taste, the 1/2 chicken with lemon caper sauce was excellent, and then we get to my entree, Pork Osso Buco. It was love at first bite. It was the best meat I have ever tasted bar none. It had an apple cinnamon sauce along with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The server was great, very informative when ordering and largely responsible for what we chose. She was attentive, very personable, and a lot of fun. The down side was …there is no down side. We all agreed that it was a great meal, plenty of food, very elegant atmosphere, and the service was top notch. The manager came over to ensure our satisfaction, and we were served a complimentary shot of Greek after dinner port. I definitely recommend that you try this restaurant. I had read some critical reviews before we went, but we found not one thing to complain about, except we all left entirely too full! Thank all of you for making our drive (1 1/2 hr.) well worth the trip. Cudo’s to the staff and the Chef.

I loved it! Husband and I enjoyed a leisurely lunch yesterday. Yes, service slow but place is cozy and beautiful so it was perfect for us to relax and linger. Food is amazing. First time in a long time that I actually was undecided between 4 different menu choices. Waitress suggested sesame tuna. Served rare over an amazing salad. Brilliant selection. Husband had ravioli. Also wonderful.

This place runs hot and cold – mostly cold. Agree with the other reviewers about customer service. It’s like they are begging you not to return. Wish granted.
