Half a rack platter not worth the 18.00 bucks. Ribs were not the worst I ever had but not very meaty and the bottom was not skinned. Sides on the other hand were straight out of a box/can. (Mac-n-Cheese and Baked Beans) Sauces were good though, so at least it’s not a total wash. If the prices were better I’d say it was worthwhile……,but sadly cannot recomend.

We tried Big Al’s restaurant for dinner one night. My fianc and I each got platters. He got the pork BBQ and I had the smoked chicken. It took close to fifteen minutes for our food to come out. When the food did arrive, it was all cold. My sweet potato fries were burnt and cold and disgusting. The only warm thing on the plate were the two hush puppies. My fiances BBQ was cold and fatty, the Mac and cheese tasted good but was a tiny portion and also cold. We left very disappointed and will not be going back.

Very slow service, food not hot when it came out after 20 minutes of waiting. Hush puppies not fully cooked, soda machine was out of Pepsi and sweet tea was not sweet. Not impressed and will not return. BBQ should already be cooked but we had to wait a really long time.

I came here because it’s close. The portions and prices are comparable to Dickeys Barbeque Pit. However the food is definitely better. Sides are homemade and delicious. The barbeque is moist and tender. Lots of sauces to choose from. Will be back!

Brisket Is A Keeper, The Pork Not So Much.. Another bright, shiny BBQ restaurant in a new shopping centerl with a menu on the wall, a few daily specials, and a basic fast food setup – order at the front, pay, take a number, get your drink, & grab a table. This place hasn’t been open all that long, but Big Al had been selling his BBQ on weekends from a food truck for a while before opening this place. There were 3 local police cruisers in the parking area in front of this place, when we pulled in – I took this to be a good sign that the food would be reasonably priced, and fairly good. And the food was fairly good (never have tasted great BBQ in a restaurant in a shopping center), but it is a tad pricey for the portions you get.The pork is tender, moist, fairly well sauced out of the kitchen, but the flavor is rather muted, and there is little smokiness, and since it is pulled not chopped, it can be quite stringy in texture.. The sandwich will benefit from a healthy dose of a sauce of your choice, and a bit of a good mayo based slaw. The pork sandwich is priced at $6 with chips – I don’t like this approach; keep the chips and reduce the price, and I’ll order a side if I’m so inclined. They offer a lot of different sauces here, more than anyother BBQ place I can remember, and unfortunately the meat needs some kind of sauce. The Beef Brisket here is very, very good, and is very tasty even without the sauce, which is the typically sweet kind. The meat is tender, but has nice texture, and the bits of outer crust are nice as well. The portion is decent, but at $8 this is a pricey choice. Again, hold the chips, and reduce the price. The Chili dog was a complete mess – chili tasted like Hormel’s canned sauce, and was a little bitter, and at $2.99, definitely not worth the price. The Brisket is worth a trip, but the rest doesn’t do much to excite.
