This place rocks – great value for your money!
Good Baja/SOCAL style fish tacos!. Relocated here from SOCAL, fish tacos are ubiquitous and I haven’t really found one I liked here in Raleigh until today. I had the grilled Tilapia fish tacos. They are on par with the ones I like back in California. For you transplants, it is similar to California Fish Grill mixed with Rubio’s. The salsa selections are pretty good, the habanero sauce is a bit salty, though. The prices are good and the ingredients tasted pretty fresh. I would definitely go back for more! So happy to see a grilled option over just fried!I like the counter-style service, the portions are good, and fish was grilled well. I do wish there was an option other than Spanish rice (white or brown with their black beans would be a great compliment side!).Thanks, Chubby’s, I had just about lost hope of finding a decent fish taco in the RTP!
Good value. I like the North Raleigh location because it is family oriented. We took our children and all five of us ate for $25. We ordered tacos and they were excellent. The bean dip was solid as well. They were plenty of menu items that we want to try in the future. We’ll definitely return.
Awesome. The real deal. The salsas are off the chart amazing. Love it!
Food was great but spicy. Ask if something is spicy if you don’t like spicy food.
Normally, I love Chubby’s. I recently had a pretty bad experience – the food came out cold (chicken, beef AND queso). I did let them know, but since all of the chicken tinga and beef came from the same containers, inevitably a replacement taco would have the same problem. Against my better judgement, I finished my meal and spent the evening regretting it.
Smothered tamales, and an el pastor gordita. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon…You gotta try this place.
