For several months, I had been intending on stopping in for lunch or dinner at the Wakefield Tavern. To be honest, I was a tad skeptical about their reviews – they seemed almost too good to be true. Well, I’m here to say that the reviews were indeed accurate. This is a hidden gem if there ever was one. Located on the end of a modest strip mall, nothing from the outside would lead you to believe this place was anything special. But inside, it’s a very attractive setting… a nice bar and comfortable booths and tables. Not a huge space, but nonetheless comfortable. The menu offers a nice selection of appetizers and entrees. We ordered the nachos with ground beef as well as the risotto balls. Geez, these were both good. Much better than standard pub fare. I was most surprised by the freshness and taste of the queso and nacho toppings. Really, really good.We had the burger and a reuben sandwich as well. Again, no disappointments there either. The menu said that the beef for the burger comes from the Angus Barn. Hmm. It was awfully good. Expectations for the reuben were greatly exceeded too, as the corned beef was excellent. Also, the service was way better than what normally passes as acceptable in local establishments. Very good service by a very competent wait staff.

The service is consistently good and the food has never disappointed anyone in our group. Another bonus, this is not a chain restaurant. Highly recommend!
Very nice waitress! Food was sub par. Ordered wings, meat lovers pizza, queso and chips and a cheeseburger. Queso was VERY bland… And not temperature hot. After it was reheated, and salsa was mixed with it, it was the best thing we ate. We had to ask for chips three times to have enough to go with the small bowl of queso we had, and they charged us $9 for that… The fries seemed made onsite? They were under cooked and quite bad. The kids didn’t eat them. Pizza was mediocre, also seemed not quite heated all the way through… My daughter didn’t finish her piece. We had half a medium left and normally we don’t have a crumb left. The burger was cooked, I ordered well done. It was ok, nothing I would go back for. Over all, this was an expensive meal we picked at. We have no intention of returning- ever.
Friendly service. We’ve been there twice for dinner and once for Sunday brunch. All three times we’ve had great service. Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming to our children. The quesadillas are outstanding and French toast and home fries are awesome! Love the prices as well!
Amzing bar. My wife and I visit WF Tavern often and we love it. Great local with great food. They have plenty of tvs for sports and a great bartender for service.
First time into this restaurant and bar. Ordered burgers and salads to go. They were the best burgers ive had in awhile. Cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Staff very good and the atmosphere was really nice. Very great place. I highly recommend it
