I think those who are giving the negative reviews have an axe to grind.For a quick lunch on a budget, what more can you ask for? I have never heard the staff say a negative word about anyone.
Amazing service!. I’m honestly surprised at the negative reviews this place receives… Of course, everyone has different tastes, some enjoy a simple hamburger or hot dog, fresh off the grill, with chili onions and mustard. Some people have more sophisticated palates. But the outright disdain from people is unsettling to say the least.So I give a disclaimer, that if you are a man who likes a wide variety of toppings, or thicker/meatier chili, or more sitting room, I recommend you look elsewhere. But if you are like the hundreds of Salisbury locals who line up every weekday to get a simple, delicious hot dog or burger fresh off the grill, done quickly and efficiently, topped with tasty, saucy, chili, fresh chopped onions and mustard, then Hap’s is going to rock your socks off.
Simply A Great Hot Dog Joint. Been coming here for year’s, and it never changes – very good hot dogs and hamburgers. There is a small counter in this tiny place where you can eat standing up, and a few tables outside – these represent all the available seating, other than your car.The hot dog is a truly classic Southern chili dog, though the chili here is a little on the thin side, but the taste is there. No slaw here, and no fries.A lot of folks order a Cheerwine with their dogs and burgers, but I’ve never really cared for this drink with hot dogs or burger – but the hot dogs and burgers are worth a stop here. Grab a bag, a cold drink, and sit on the hood of your car, and enjoy.
Don’t like. I have never understood the love of this place by so many. The most overratted hotdogs/hamburgers in Salisbury.
Favorite Hole in the Wall in NC. Without a doubt, the best hole in the wall in the state. I’m so glad my friends in college from Salisbury let me know about Hap’s. I can’t make the wall of excessive eaters, but I can do two chili dogs and two chili cheeseburgers if I’m really hungry. The food is awesome, and they can move some volume so the waiting is never that bad. ALWAYS go for a glass bottle Cheerwine!
