What a great meal! This place doesnt look like much from the outside, but it was a great experience. My wife had the pollo Mexicano, and thought it was excellent. I got the mol ranchero. It was the spiciest and tastiest mol I have had! The chicken was very tender, and the chilis in the sauce had an immediate and strong kick, but without losing the flavor of the chocolate. The waiter filled our drinks in a timely manner. The price was under $25 for both of us. I would definitely come back when I pass through again!

Finally … Salsa with Heat. Not sure if they are related but I used to go to Cozumel quite frequently back when I lived in Charlotte. Based on that, i decided to give them a try.Service is good and the food is great. My only complaint was that the light was so dim, I had to use the flashlight app on my phone to get enough light to read the menu.Needless to say, started out with the prefunctory Tortilla Chips and Salsa. While a bit thin the Salsa was was the best I have had in a long time and the best I have ever had in the Charlotte Metro. It had plenty of heat and fresh jalepeno’s has a crisp fruity almost citrus flavor that disappears quickly. This Salsa had that strong fruity note which means it was fresh and made with fairly freshly picked Jalepenos.For my entre,I had the #1 Combination which was one Taco, two Enchiladas and refried beans, all for under $7.00. Portion size was ample so you get your monies worth hence a good value. The taco was very good and topped with freshly grated cheese. The Enchiladas were good but a bit dry and not outstanding.Service as previously noted was very good. Atmosphere is good except for the lighting and room is decorated with typical Mexican fare.It’s a good place for lunch and I’ll take a couple of my employees there for lunch on Friday and let them make up their own mind.
