Not worth a road trip. I finally decided to drive over to Hop’s from Davie County. Based on an earlier review, I went early and found the service before the noon rush to be excellent. I was a bit disappointed to find the double cheeseburger overcooked and my fries, which were ordered extra crispy, to be on the soft side. I might go there occasionally if I were a local, but it’s certainly not worth the 20 mile one way drive I made today.
Any trace of Service is Gone. Back when this restaurant was in that small place on the Westside, food and service was excellent. You could not turn around without someone trying to help you are at least ask.When the moved into this current location, they had a lot more room and the foord and service remained good although there was a gradual drop off in service.Any trace of service has totally disappeared. The level of staffing has gotten so low, they can not maintain anything close to adequate service. I went in last week for lunch around 12:30. Place was about 1/3 full. There is a table or counter where you go up and place your order and there were about 12 people ahead of me although a number of them were couples. Line moved very slow and over a couple of minutes, I observed why.The lady taking the orders was also the server delivering the food, refilling the tea glasses and bussing the tables in the end.No wonder they wre so slow and a good portion have limited ime for lunch. In 10 minutes, the line of 12 moved up exactly by 4. At this point I left.Used to have probably the best burger in Statesville but that does not mean anything unless there is service to go with it.
