Horrible service and sub-par offerings of Americanized Tex-Mex staples. We waited forever for our waitress after being seated in the half-empty restaurant at 6pm on a weeknight we finally flagged down the bartender to order a trio of sweet margaritas to wash down the bland, bagged tortilla chips and watery salsa left by the soon-to-be AWOL waitress. The chili rellenos ($10.75) were coated in a half-fried, mostly soggy dough and topped not filled- with a Sloppy Joe-like ground beef and sickly sweet red sauce that was closer to Italian marinara than enchilada sauce. The beans were clearly canned and the rice was dry and void of any flavor. But they finally lost me at the pork tamales; why in the world would you slop a spoonful of beef chili on a pork tamale? Cmon! The Shrimp Chimichanga had obviously sat in the window a while, its cheese sauce completely melted away, leaving a soggy bundle of dough folded around a handful of tiny shrimp floating in cheese water. The plate came with the same flavorless beans and rice. The Mixed Fajitas platter came out sizzling, but all the proteins were terribly overcooked the slivers of chicken were charred beyond recognition and the onions and peppers didnt fare much better. Everything tasted burnt. To make matters worse, we never saw our server again and were never offered refills of our cocktails, or received our waters, which we asked for twice. I had to scavenge for silverware, snatching it up from a nearby table, and walking behind the bar to find extra napkins.Simply put – if you want more authentic Mexican food, go visit Taco Bell down the street.
Satisfies your Mexican craving. Not superb but still good. The service is a little off at times. We’ve only encountered mistakes with take out orders, but it seems it’s every time.
