Monday Evening Off-Season Dinner. We didn’t even think about places being closed on a Monday evening, which is what led us to Breezeway. Little did we know it was all you can eat snow crab leg night. But there still wasn’t a crowd, so seating was not a problem…. except for advertising seating to watch the sun set and the hostess sat us far away from the water and windows as possible! But our waitress was great and moved us to an excellent table with a great view. She was very friendly and attentive.We started with the crab dip, which was good but had a little too much creaminess in it for my taste (mayo, sour cream? I don’t even know). We also had the houses salads, which were minimal but we’re not iceberg lettuce at least. I had the shrimp scampi, a house speciality. Nothing fancy, but very tasty. My husband had the captain’s platter, which was enough to feed two! Sadly…. All this talk about hush puppies and we didn’t have any…. They weren’t even on his platter of seafood! Oh well, next time.Overall, this place isn’t anything fancy but the food it good. It also looks like they are one of the few places on the island with ample seating for large groups, and they have a great view of the sound. There is even a dock that you can pull up to if traveling by boat.
