Hit or Miss. When you hit them on a good day, it’s great. Fried chicken and chicken pastry are really good. Plenty of veggies to choose from. When you hit them on a bad day, it leaves a lot to be desired. Service can be marginal, food can be depleted on the bar.I’d love it if the restaurant interior actually looked like it does in their web picture, but it doesn’t. No tablecloths, no centerpieces on the table, set up of tables and chairs looks haphazard…kind of like a cheap fish camp where they herd people in and out.
I have been going to Joyce’s for years since moving the quality has been sliding. Any starches cooked there have no flavor (any cook knows you must salt the water/like seawater) before cooking. If not, no amount of salt aftewards is going to help. Totally lacking in taste. The day we went, no potatoes, no banana pudding etc. If they are going to charge for great food-then it needs to be great food. Right now it taste like institutional food ie: hospital, school or retirement home food. Very bland, please Joyce your food was once outstanding-please fix it.
Unbelievably horrible. This was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Staff was rude. Fried chicken and hush puppies were drier than I thought possible. Everything was heavily salted. Things on the buffet were left un-refilled the entire time I was there. It’s all mostly stuff poured out of cans. I can stay at home and heat a can of corn, peas, green beans, boiled potatoes etc… I paid over $10 for absolute garbage. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
