Awesome!. Best bbq around! I love eating that huge sandwich while sippin tea in their yard just before my Heels play. Been taking my son here since he was about 7. He couldn’t eat the entire sandwich then so I’d get to help him! Now, look out— He wants his and mine!
Great Value. Mel’s is literally only open six hours a week: Friday and Saturday from 11-2. I had the bbq pork sandwich. It was a large portion and it was amazing. I tried the potato salad for a side; it was good, but the sandwich stole the show. A sandwich is a mere $3 and a plate with sides is $6. I will definitely visit Mel’s again soon.

Best BBQ in Wake County. I have eaten at Mel’s several times and every time has been excellent. It’s amazing to me that he serves a Jumbo BBQ sandwich with his homemade cole slaw for $3.00 and a BBQ plate (pork or chicken) for $6.00. These are true southern folks with a down home friendly attitude. It ain’t just me that loves Mel’s, ask anybody that is familiar with his food and they’ll tell you that Mel’s has the best.
