Lovely Desserts. On Halloween, I and some friends decided while waiting to go to a movie to stop at a near by shop for dessert and coffee. The closest one that had caught our attention earlier was this one. The place is lovely with a welcoming feeling. I enjoyed the old wooden floors and the soft yellow walls that gave it that warm setting. Between the four of us, we ordered almost everything on the dessert menu and then shared them amongst each other. All were so tasty with my favorite being the warm apple pie. This will be a place I would return to for dinner, but also come back again just for the coffee and dessert.
Not recommended!. The price is not reasonable for what you get. The staff are really rude and look down at you. It depends on what you eat and if you do not like your food they would change it with embarrassing behavior. The smell of the shrimp was disgusting while I am a fan of well cooked shrimp! I finally ordered Angus ribeye and it was burnt instead of char-broiled! We spent 70 bucks for 2 of us and was not worth it at all!
Great location. The location dowtown raleigh is great, the ownar was so kind and fun, the food was good but the portions to small even though i will visit again this place next time
Great food if you get a seat. Reservations requiredVictorian atmosphere with cool art.
Good food. Great Price. I’ve been searching far and wide for good pasta but to my dismay no restaurant come close. But… Cafe Luna is pretty acceptable for the price. I’ve tried virtually every pasta dish and found that the Linguini al Carciofi was the most flavorful of them all. I also recommend the Calamari Fritti – lightly battered calamari with a good crisp and the accompanying red sauce pairs well. Did I mention skip the free bread? They really should stop offering them – tasteless or at least switch suppliers or fire the baker. Now for the entrees I’d recommend the Bistecca della Luna – a good size flavorful ribeye with sufficient marbling to render it tender and juicy with spring mix and roasted potatoes. This my friend is a great deal for 16.95. Ask for medium doneness.Complete this with John or Will’s service and you’d be a satistfied camper!
A lunch favorite. Great pasta dishes and salads at (yes, I’ll say it) bargain prices. Attentive (but not overbearing) owner.
I was actually quite pleased with the food, but was so filled up on an eariler lunch and the great appetizers here, I couldnt eat the whole thing.
