Liked it but overpriced. It was a good burger, but for the price, I expected…something more.

If you want a great tasting burger in downtown Raleigh chucks is the place to go, but if you want great service go somewhere else. I had one of the worst waiter in my life. While I was almost done with my burger, the waiter did not ask me if I was ready for my bill. He just came with my bill and took away my unfinished fries and walk away. Knowing I wasn’t done eat. Horrible service!

Good, but overcooked. Had The Dirty South burger which had a number of good flavors throughout with the tobacco onions straws, vinegar slaw, red pea chili, etc, but the burger had little flavor – likely because I ordered it medium, but instead received a well done burger. Hey, I know it can happen, but if your focus is on burgers you need to be able to cook it to perfection (i.e., per the customer’s requests). The fries were a bit saturated with grease – about only half were edible. Two dipping sauces I chose with them were The Comeback Sauce (would be good a roast beef sandwich) and the Espelette Aioli (outstanding!).

Slooooooooow. 40 minutes so far, no food. Restaurant is not filled, three tables in after us have been served and we’re getting burgers just like everyone else.

Urban Burger. The burgers are indeed very good. Almost anyone can taste the difference between Chuck’s and anywhere else. I do have several observations: 1. The half-pound burgers do not seem to be true half pounders. 2. Chuck’s offers a minimalist approach to dining–the ambience is a creation of the diners. 3. It’s an urban dining experience. While children are most likely welcome, I’m sure they are not the desired clientele. 4. The prices are decent, but it’s still just a burger, right?

Superior product at a premium price. At that price fries should be included.

Tasty but 1/2 Pound ??. We had the Dirty South Burgers. It was absolutely delicious but (really?) was it 1/2 pound ? I have eaten a lot of burgers in my time and I just don’t think this was truly the 1/2 pound as was advertised. Fries with dipping sauces were very good.
