Great Luncheonette. First visit – we were in Raleigh and saw the reviews and thought we’d give it a try. Lots of options on the menu. I had the ribeye sandwich, fries & a cup of chili (with beans whic IMHO is the way it should be) – the chili and ribeye sandwich were great. The fries were okay. My wife had the Gerry Dorn (veal) sandwich and said it was very good. We had Diet Coke, but the have a large selection of beers & wine available. We are glad we stopped in and will be repeat customers.
Just what we were looking for, a nice hometown greasy spoon.
Straight Up. What are you looking for? Because if it is foodie flash or fancy shmance, keep walking. Mecca is for eating. Turkey, gravy, bread, and fries. 7 bucks. Just the facts. Charming, creaky space and old Raleigh vibe adds a little to the experience.
Fantastic breakfast, country style. Great staff, friendly, glad we stopped in!
Atmosphere was great, but the food was very underwhelming compares to the other restaurants in the area. Food was bland and over priced.
Classic old school Raleigh. Good for thehardcore foodie.
The clam chowder is simply inedible. The double decker club sandwich was good as well as the biscuit and hash browns!
