Been here a couple times for lunch, food is mediocre. Went this last time and won’t be back. Went in and with plenty of seating, we were told would be a couple of mins. After a couple of mins we were told it would be about 10mins with no explanation. Bad service, bad food.
Food is not bad but the music is way to loud to enjoy your meal
Not as good as they make out.. First let me say the good, great and kind service, clean place even the restrooms, as far as the food ONLY the actual BBQ was good. That bad, the ribs were as tough as nails, could not pull them apart, nor bite thru them without pulling a tooth. Tried the hacksaw of a knife they give and barly got thru them that way. Had to bring them home and put them in the crockpot to get them tender. Hush puppies were NOT homemade. Store bought for sure. Started out ordering the prime rib sandwich and they came back and said they were out and couldnt fill our order so we got the combo platter, ONLY after to hear the same watress take an order from someone else that ordered PRIME RIB. Now whats up with that?Chicken, well not a chicken fan but in its defense had a good flavor and was juicy. And the coleslaw was okThere house sauces were, well , terrible and very very runny, almost looked like water. Not sure where they learned to make a bbq sauce but not impressed.Quite honestly, for the same kind of food you can get better quaility from Golden Coral or FATS for the same kind of price.
My wife and I split the large combo platter. The food and service were both exemplary. I’ve had barbecue all over the country and I would put Tipton’s up against any other barbecue I’ve ever had. The service was fantastic, our server (Megan) did a wonderful job and I would recommend Tipton’s with no reservations whatsoever.
Great Food. We eat at Tipton’s at least once every other week. Never a bad meal there. The food is consistent and in my opinion they have the best BBQ in the area. They have lots of other great entrees and sides including the best burger in Wilkes.
My First Time @ Tipton’s BBQ. And certainly not my last. I had pulled pork, okra, slaw, and potato salad. The pork was tender and succulent. The okra was lightly breaded, and fresh. The potato salad was the very best I have ever eaten! I love to cook, and I would venture to say that it is even better than mine. I just wish we had one in Hickory, NC!
Great place to eat!. I love this place. I always get the Bar-B-Que. It’s very reasonably priced and fills me up every time. I recommend this to everyone who lives in wilkesboro or is just passing through. It’s right on 421 on your way to boone or TN, great location, great food, great people.
