Extremely Average. It is what it is. Just another chain bar with greasy but edible food and an average beer selection. Think Applebees with a bigger bar. Not horrible but nothing special here.

Carolina Ale House. Typical sports bar. Been here a few times and you walk in and don’t expect much from the food but I was surprised when I got my meal. I got the brisket sandwich and it was awesome. Outdoor seating area is a nice size so you don’t have to squeeze in, especially on a nice day. They also have an outdoor bar so you can sit outside and watch sports if it’s nice.

Awful service experience. I want to start by saying I have been to the ale house on many occasions and always coming away with the feeling of ehh. The food is ok for a bar and in their defense the beer selection has gotten better since they opened but still lacking for somewhere that touts themselves as an Ale house, but after the experience me and friends from out of town had last night (Saturday 8/1/2012) I will not be returning. Our server was nice and very helpful but the management team was atrocious. We set out to have watch some college football games so I recommended the ale house as a comfortable environment with many TVs. We were seated quickly in prime viewing location with the game we wanted to see on the big screen! We ordered beers and wings and then asked the waitress if it would be possible to have the sound turned from the pop music to the football game that was on the majority of the TVs. She politely told us she didnt know but would gladly find out. She returned a few minutes later saying that her manager said no because there was another game that they would be playing with sound. We told her that that was fine but the game she referenced wouldnt start for an hour and we would be more then fine having them switch the sound to that game as we wanted to watch both (we felt this was a reasonable request) again we were told this would not be possible. We were confused but understood that the server was not in charge of these types of decisions and she seemed to be as baffled as we were. Here is where the problem is, as a former server I found it deplorable that after a server had brought a problem to the managers attention twice we never received a table visit or a reason for the decision from the people in charge, this is their job to help make people in the restaurant happy something the two managers in the building failed at entirely. But we continued with the night not allowing the issue of sound on a TV deter us (a minor inconvenience at most). towards the end of the night the big game was at half time and the game we were watching (without a doubt the second biggest game of the night) still on the big screen was all tied up in the 4th, we flagged down the manager and again requested that just for half time we could switch the sound. His responses were condescending, rude and dismissive, he did nothing but further inflame a situation that need to not be a big deal, his final remark to my friend as he was walking away was a offhanded and snarky can I get you a beer did nothing but piss everyone at the table off. I was embarrassed as an industry professional, and form employee of this company (another guest at our table works for the company currently, and was equally outraged) that I had recommended, brought, and said so many good things about this establishment to my friends. I will not be returning, and I will be telling everyone I know not to return as well. I can forgive bad service and bad food but when the manager is rude and unwilling to talk to customers it is unforgivable, and I feel sorry for the servers who have to work in that environment.

I’m not a big fan. The atmosphere walking into this place is miserable and the people greeting you at the door don’t make you feel very welcome. I was there for 5 mins and I knew I would not be returning anytime soon.

I dig it!. Good times and good food! Nachos with chicken tossed in buffalo sauce is the best in town!
