Cannot Get the Order Right. I have met stupidity, and it is in the Cookout in Wilmington. I repeated my order so many times, I began to worry about my sanity. THEY STILL GOT IT WRONG! Sadly, Cookout has gone from a tie for my favourite burger to off of the list of places I will go. They just cannot seem to under stand what I am asking for. It is not rocket science. Mayor McCheese has to remember two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. All I asked for is a Huge Burger with Ketchup and Mustard. How hard is that? Oh, well. I guess it is Char Grill from here on out. I mean, I love the food, if they would get my order right. But every time I go to cookout, they give me the wrong item. I am just tired of not getting what I ask for. Since it is a drive through, they do not care, by the time I figure out they got me again, I am a mile down the road. Sad Sad Sad. A truly sad day for me.
I don’t normally like corn dogs, but their batter makes it great. They have the best milkshakes with. Huckster of fruit. Haven’t tried many other thing but every one I’ve taken their has lived the food. They are fast and courteous.
I work at cook out. So first id like to say i work at cook out as a shake guy. Id like to break a few mis conceptions about our store. Our sweet tea does not come from a syrup, i flip the tea every day and make new batches its just like regular tea. Tea bags stupped in hot water that way it should be made. Our burgers are not frozen they are made daily and they are grilled on a real charcoal grill. Matter a fact no meat we serve is ever frozen its all fresh. No we dont have a shake machine for every kind of shake we hand make our milkshakes an painstakingly mix every ingredient to perfection. and yes you can mixx anything you want into your shake. I work almost every day out of the week and im still not tired of the smell of the food like i would be if i worked at a regular resturant. There are enough food items and combos to keep you coming back for years to come. All in all i just want to say i love my job there and if you want something tasty to eat on the cheap and want to know your food is always made with the freshest ingredients then come stop by cook out and let your mouth have a party.
Burgers great. Really enjoyed the Burger and Milkshake. Need to change the fries you use, tho.

Tried and True. You can always tell when UNCW classes are back in session, Cookout will be dead one day and then a monster line down College Rd. the next.It is what it is, cheap, fast, greasy, incredibly bad for you food. But it sure is tasty. Lots of options, plates of BBQ burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches etc. Our first time we were shocked at the sides: A double cheeseburger plate is $4.99, with two sides (everything from fries to wraps, corndogs to hushpuppies) and a drink. You just can’t beat that.Menu is very difficult to read, it’s a jumbled mess of neon letters, in print too small to be read from a car window. Two drive thru’s to keep people moving (a-la Checkers).Definitely great food for people who have had a few beers (hence it’s popularity and location right next to campus).
