Gross! Everything tastes like dirty grill
Wanted to like it.. I was so excited about getting to try the bowl. Flaming Amy’s Burrito Barn has a fun atmosphere, and has great prices for a part time student like myself, so I was quite pleased about getting to try the Bowl. I’ll start with the positive, since I’m just that kind of person. The atmosphere? Most retro-chic and colourful, with comfortable seating, the line for bowls is simple, and the menu is easy to access and read. The service was friendly, and my waitress who refilled my drink several times was very polite and cheerful, which meant a lot. The chefs behind the glass were also cheerful and quite good humored, despite the large crowd and constant orders. They maintained speed, and efficiency, but topped it with jokes and smiles. I even asked them advice on the sauce, which they were more than willing to share about how each compared with different meats and vegetables. So, atmosphere and service? Great, loved it.Now for the bad, which it rather pains me to write. Like I said, I very much WANTED to like the Bowl. For starters, well, my food tasted like charred goop. I figured maybe it was a fluke, so I tried a different grill and different ingredients. No, even the second time around, I was less than impressed. So, my uneaten food, and soda essentially cost me $13. Not exactly a pleasant experience for my stomach or my wallet. If the bowls were less pricey, I’d be willing to risk trying it again, but alas, I don’t have that kind of money to throw around. So yes, I was more than disappointed by the Bowl, which is a shame, since it has such good atmosphere and employees.
Quit’cha bitchin’. This place is beyond amazing…I could eat at Flaming Amy’s bowl every day of my life. The staff is always very nice and it’s just a great place. If you’re worried about getting in and out- don’t go around 12-1 when youre on a tight schedule because the place will be packed. Ahem, but isn’t a full house a good sign?! Sorry the world doesn’t revolve around your schedule, go to mcdonalds if you’re looking for fast low quality food. Flaming Amy’s is awesome and the cooks are always on point and get it done as fast as they can. Mmmm… okay I’m about to get my dose of FAB now! Cherio.
Favorite place in Wilmington. I love flaming Amy’s in every way. When I’m traveling elsewhere I genuinely miss flaming Amy’s (as sad as it may sound that I genuinely miss a food establishment it’s true!!)
Amazing!!!! Just moved to the area and this place was recommended highly and I now eat hear very often. Food is amaZing and the staff are awesome!!!!
I wanted to like it here so bad!! This was my first time here, love the concept. Had high expectations, First impression was just not that good. The steak was too much like a Philly style, sauces are okay but too thin to stick and give good flavor, nice selection of ingredients …mine tasted burnt every time though, but not over cooked. raw but burnt. tried a few different combos but left disappointed. Needs stronger flavors! Dinner for 2 was 20 bucks and for all you can eat that is awesome. Very filling. Option to combine sauce is cool. Cooks were very nice/ helpful/ friendly.
