If you enjoy vinegar-based barbecue, this is the place for you. It is not fancy with styrofoam plates and cups. We have enjoyed Jacksons for many years, and the barbecue remains consistently good. We dont live here so we always buy some barbecue to go for our freezer. The prices are pretty reasonable and the serving size is decent. Just so you know, the slaw has mayo and mustard (for you strict mayo aficionados). This time they had sauteed cabbage as a side and it was delicious. The collard greens are a bit sweet which isnt to my liking. Service is ridiculously fast. As a side note, they dont serve alcohol which would be a nice improvement.
Found it! That place that only the locals know! I knew there had to be a place in Wilmington that served NC authentic BBQ, Jackson’s is it! All I will say is everything was fantastic. The service was quick and folks were extremely hospitable. Yes I recommend again and again and again!!!
