I just flew in for family and wanted local BBQ. We rolled the dice & went to Parchies. For some reason a BBQ house was making meatball sandwiches and the BBQ sandwich was less than desirable. It wasn’t that it was bad it just didn’t have any flavor. The ice tea was the best thing going
PARCHIES. I have lived in Wilmington for more years than most (58). I have over the years stopped at Parchies for lunch and always found the food fresh, hot and a special local atmosphere. You may have to listen to Big Dave shouting out the orders, but again…special local atmosphere. TRY’EM.
Parchies BBQ. This place has been open for 26 years in downtown Wilmington next to the high school. Clearly we were there on a bad day. It was the Tuesday after mem day so everyone may have gone to the beach for the weekend, including the cooks. The meat was clearly several days old and inedible. I took my mother and three children and we love NC BBQ. There was nothing that could fix it. Slaw, sauce, Texas Pete. We left and went to another restaurant.
