Was so happy that they served their brunch menu until 3pm. Started with Baileys and coffee and within 10 minutes, I had a beautiful crab cake benedict sitting in front of me. Delicious! The eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise was perfectly buttery, and the bacon added a nice twist to a traditional favorite. The cheese grits need NOTHING. So good, so cheesy.
There are a few WONDERFUL servers in this place, and one absent minded one who makes you feel like you’re not welcome. Alas, the two girls that are awesome C and D make up for it when I go back. The food is quite good, not much to choose from for vegetarian meals but they ALWAYS have something so you won’t starve. Atmosphere is fun, sparks up conversation as it’s an old building with bad juju all among the bricks, so they’re lightening up the oppression that IS the Cotton Exchange history as best they can. Truly a nice place for that SUNDAY BREAKFAST no one else seems to know how to make!
This is by far the best restaurant that I have been to in North Carolina. The food was awesome and the people are nice. My only complaint is that it take a while to receive your food and refills so come between 5 and 6:30 when their less busy.
This restaurant has really good food, but really slow service. I ordered the shrimp and crawfish entufe. It took a pretty long time to come out. It tasted very sweet. For dessert, I got the chocolate cake. It was very good! With each meal, the owner takes a good authentic meal, and adds some of her own touch to it. Overalls, I would recommend going here.
Not authentic southern. Our first time there so we were anxious to try out the veggies. Disappointed. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being great here’s how I’d score this restaurant: Brunswick Stew 8; Collards 1; Sweet Potato 5; Green Beans 1; Okra 2; Macaroni & Cheese 2; Mashed Potatoes & Gravy 3; Bread 5; and Service & Ambiance 4. We were there at 12:30 pm and they had already run out of homemade bread. Overpriced for the quality of food.
Good food with good service. Glad we walked by!
Excellent lunch. Had the flounder. Great spot.
