Authentic German food and atmosphere!. Great location inside the Cotton Exchange. The interior is very cozy, with lots of wood and exposed brick. The German food and beer is uniformly great. Friendly service, too.
Reuben – Wunderbar!. I have enjoyed every meal here but I especially enjoy their Reuben. Also, don’t forget to order the Napoleon! ENJOY!
Wunderbares Essen!. Excellent experience at The German Cafe. Excellent, authentic Hessan style food with a very good selection of beers. Great ambiance and attentive staff. We’ll be back.
5 out of 5. Could not find fault with anything. Tasted like I was back in Germany. Enough said. Der authentische deutsche Nahrung finden Westen des Vaterlandes.
Good food and service. I hear the pastries and desserts are great. The non-stop, kitschy German music is pretty annoying.
I have been going here since I was little. The food, service, atmosphere, everything is always exceptional! My personal favorite has always been the veal schnitzel. Also for dessert, the strudel is the best!
Good food, cool atmosphere A++. My recent dinner at The German Cafe was very nice. I loved the atmosphere as it is housed in an old historic building The Cotton Exchange, which also has many shops.I tried the potato pancakes, they were good, hot and crispy around the edges, yum! I also had a cup of cream of vegetable soup, it was made on premises and was very satisfying. For the main course I tried the wurst sampler, the three wurst were delicious slathered with the grainy mustard that was given with the meal. The side of German potato salad was good, definitely is different from southern style potato salad as it is served warm and has no mayo!I had a German draft beer which arrived with a good head of foam and was the right temp. For dessert I tried a piece of apple strudel topped with REAL handmade whipped cream – was to die for! The service was fine, young girls in dirndls, a nice touch. Everyone around me seemed to be enjoying their meals as well, I would recommend The German Cafe as a great place to eat.
