Nice spot. Not big on view, but the service and food was just fine. Note: no shrimp po-boys on the menu (see review below), but everything we had was well prepared and satisfying.
Great beer, fried shrimp, po boys, fried green tomatoes, bacon wrapped scallops…. Low key atmosphere… Not too much of a view… Friendly staff.
Stopped in here on our way to carolina beach. A great little place with friendly people and a great shrimp po-boy. Anyone nearby shoukd definetly stop by.
Banks Channel is a gem. We dined there tonight with our 16-year-old son. The bar had a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, but with son we opted for the comfortable and quiet dining room. Service was exemplary–friendly, competent, and attentive. They have a nice selection of microbrews on tap at very fair prices. The food was great. We enjoyed everything we ordered: appetizer crab cakes, wings with spicy thai sauce, an awesome burger with excellent fresh hand-cut julienned fries, pear-walnut salad with walnuts, blue cheese and raspberry pomagranate dressing, cheesesteak sub with the most amazing fresh homemade potato chips. While the whole meal was a pleasure, truly the chips alone are worth the trip. We are so glad to have discovered Banks Channel and look forward to repeat visits.
Dining Desperados. Our later than expected arrival at our hotel left us with few options for dinner. Guys at the hotel suggested this place and so a hop, skip, and jump later there we were placing orders at the bar and then finding ourselves a table out front on the patio. My Banks Burger was certainly hefty enough and while I couldn’t really tell if it was a prefab frozen patty or a fresh one, it settled the spirits in my stomach just fine. Skin On Fries were scarfed down with Ketchup as appreciably as possible. The wife had their Turkey Bacon Ranch Wrap and she had no complaints and no leftovers. On the other hand, our pals The Cackalacks werent as enthusiastic about their deep fried orgy known as the Sampler. It was just the usual gut bombs you’d expect from the late night bar food category. Still, this food saved our tails, and allowed us to return to our cocktailing on the beach.
