Don’t offer coupons/deals if you don’t want to honor them. I went to Martino’s 6 months ago with a Sweet Jack coupon. Not a bad deal, paid $10 to get $20. He had some rules when I got there that I couldn’t use this or that, didn’t really explain what the prices were so I ordered some stuff and somehow spent an extra 15 on top of the $20 coupon. I figured oh well at least it’s going to be real Italian food. Being from RI and growing up with many Italian friends I know what tastes good. This did not. The meatballs were so dense and hard and the sauce wasn’t much to write home about. The fresh mozzarella wasn’t that great either. No melt in your mouth.I went again recently and had another Sweet Jack deal that expired that day. I drove all the way up there to use it and hoped maybe this time the food would be better. When I walk in the gentleman behind the counter was talking about how he can’t wait to sell the place. Gee, I really feel like eating there. Then he sees the coupon. Which says it expires the day I was there. He’s like it’s expired you can’t use it????? To me expires on means I can use it the last day. Never heard of this approach. Then he says I’ll tell you what you can have $10 for it (well on the coupon it says that if it expires you can get the value you paid for it). So that wasn’t really doing me a favor. Then he was trying to get me to buy things I didn’t want. I asked for a couple of slices of eggplant he piled four on. I suppose I should have said something at that point but he was really testy with me. Overall a very bad experience (twice). I will never be returning there again.
