This review covers several PCJ locations around Wilmington and the one in Southport.Miles ahead of Starbucks, but still not on par with a good independent coffee shop. Service is typically slow, but friendly. The coffee is definitely good, and the pastries are good as well. It’s a shame the service doesn’t always measure up.

Like Starbuck’s without the pretense!. I stopped in for a quick breakfast and found Port City to be a very clean, inviting space with several tables in two dining areas. The lighting and atmosphere was good for waking up–warm, but not too bright. There was a shelf of books along one wall, so if you didn’t bring something to read you know there’s something there for you.The counter case had a very nice selection of baked goods, and usual variety of coffees and teas were also on the board. I opted for a breakfast sandwich served on a fresh croissant along with a Cafe Americano. Everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and efficient too. I give it 4/5 stars.

Nice coffeehouse with great coffee, friendly service that was quick even when it was really busy. Located in a beautiful quiet shopping area that begs you to relax and have another cup of coffee, which we did. And now that we (as out of towners) have been here several times over several months, I can safely say the coffee stays great, as does the service and I love the new foods and flavors they have come out with.
