Excellent fresh seafood. Service was a bit slow, but it was a Friday on Valentine’s weekend. Great selection of appetizers, steaks and fish. Quite a drink menu too. Highly recommend!

We went to the East 40 for a birthday dinner for my wife, there were 4 other people with us and we had reservations for 6:30, when we got there we stood for about 10 minutes and then were finally seated. It took about 15 minutes for a waiter to come take our drink order, after we got our drinks he took our orders. We sat there for 1 hr. 50 min. and finally asked where our orders were and were told they should be out in another 15 to twenty min. by the manager, we had enough and told them we were leaving we paid for our drinks and left. I would not recommend this place to anyone to go to eat unless you have 4-5 hours to waste waiting for your food.

Worst meal ever. We had eaten an excellent meal at East 40 a few years ago during a trip to ND, and so we were very surprised and disappointed that the steak ($29) was full of fat, and at the side dishes–green vegetables, especially–were greasy. Don’t eat at this place!

Terrible. The food is way overpriced and service is terrible. I have been there a few times and the food was really good but yesterday it was bad. The steaks had no flavor, they asked if I wanted salad with the meal and I said yes then charged me extra 5 bucks for the salad I thought it was part of the meal. They charged a 1 extra for stawberry margarita for strawberry, really?? It was terrible.. I don’t mind paying for good food and service but this was outright crazy. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. They will never see me again.

Terrible service. Hosting people from 19 states for a conference. Went for dinner and were extremely disappointed. Wouldn’t let us have more bread and couldn’t buy a baked potato. They were afraid the later customers wouldn’t get any. Are you kidding me we are paying customers that are here now. Manager was extremely rude. Will never go back. Way to represent ND – NOT.

Down hill slide. I have been coming to this place for over 15 years, tonight was the final time I will set foot in the East 40.The night started off on the wrong foot right from the beginning, as we (4 adults) were seated in a room full of families with noisy children. I asked for a quieter spot and was denied, even though there were empty tables everywhere. The booth was way to small for 4 adults, we spent the night feeling claustrophobic. The waitress seemed to be preoccupied with something else or was just scatter brained. She didn’t know the difference between a Ribeye steak and Prime rib, and ended up getting our order wrong.Lets talk about the food. I ordered the ribeye medium rare, what came on my plate was a joke. Barely 1/2 thick and tough! If you look on here, 2 years ago I posted a picture of a ribeye I ate at East 40. It was an inch thick if not more, tonight I felt like I was eating a tough hamburger!Another ordered the prime rib, and was completely disappointed. The steak was said to be 12 oz. The cut she received was 6 at the most, and sliced so thin that you could see through it in places. She did say it tasted fine. East 40 used to be a classy place with great food and a huge wine list. It is now nothing but an over priced place to avoid.
