Great value and suprisingly good food. I’m not partial to chains but I have to eat my words and admit that Chili’s is pretty ‘effing delicious and ridiculously inexpensive! Coming from Canada, I always forget how much cheaper food is here in America! I mean seriously $20 Dinner For Two where you share an appetizer and order 2 entrees from a list is total amazeballs. Seriously, eating 2 combo meals from McDonalds or Wendys will cost about $20 yet here you can dine in and have much better food relative to a fast food joint. It’s also great when you get a super excited server like we did. She was chatty and friendly and added to the happy busy vibe at Chili’s. By the way, I was shocked this place, which is apparently pretty new was very full at 430 pm on a Saturday. Do people eat that early in Fargo? Some families were mid way through their meals when we sat down. We ate early because we were driving back to Winnipeg so I wasn’t sure why all the locals were eating early.Anyhow, the food was prepared well and not overly salty. The Tostada Chips & Fire-Grilled Corn Guacamole was very addictive – great guacamole but watery salsa. I really liked the lighter choices menu. I loved the Mango-Chile Chicken which was about $13, you can’t beat 580 calories for a dine out entree. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and went really well with the spicy mango vinaigrette, mango salsa and house-made pico de gallo and avocado. The sirloin was very tender, cooked perfectly to a medium rare and seasoned well. Upsizing it from a 6 ounce to 10 ounce was only an extra $4 on top of the $20 for 2 deal. Well worth the upgrade. The baby back ribs were tender but I didn’t care for the original style sauce. The molten lava cake ($7) was super memorable even though I am not a dessert person. We shared it amongst the 3 of us and it was the perfect. Loved the hard chocolate shell on the ice cream and the warm lava cake. Mmmmm….
