One of my favorites!. JL Beers is the premier burger and beer joint in the FM area. Consistently good food at very reasonable prices, service is always great, and the brew selection is hands the best I’ve ever found! For the beer aficionado, this place is paradise.
Fun lunch and a break from shopping. The downtown JL Beers was friendly, bustling and a nice break from shopping on our weekend away. The staff were friendly and knew the menu and it was nice to see downtown Fargo instead of being stuck near the mall. (Love all the retro signs along Broadway!)
Hands down the best burger and fries I have had anywhere. That’s before you see the depth of the draught beer list.
Great Selection, Terrible Atmosphere. If I had wanted to eat a delicious burger with some excellent options of beer, I would not want to eat inside of an alley way which is how the JL is like in their NP location.The chairs are uncomfortable and if you are coming in from the cold they will neither hold your coat or purse. So expect to hop on and off the tall uncomfortable chair you’re sitting on frequently to pick up your now filthy coat and all the change that has now fallen out of your purse.The burgers are wonderful and the fries are exceptional, but next time I will just order take-out.
Awesome place to eat and hang out. JL Beers is an awesome place to hang out with friends and grab a bite to eat. The food tastes great and the staff is very friendly and upbeat. I ordered a burger with the made-in-house chips. The chips were incredible and it was cool to see how they made them. I will definitely be returning!
Sub par. Great homemade fries and chips. However, I’ve always wondered what all the hype is over their burgers. They are easily my least favorite in town. They are usually overcooked, dry, small, and use terribly low quality buns and what appears to be kraft american cheese. If you want a real burger, check out Five Guys, Smash Burger, or Ruby Tuesday. I’ll normally even take Wendy’s over this. Best beer selection in town though. If they had the food to back it up this would be my go to place.
Loved the burgers. Sweet choice of burgers. Not the most massive but at under 5$ for the expensive and under 4$ for the rest I can afford to order two, plus you get to try more variety’s that way. Being mostly a non-drinker, the beer selection didn’t appeal to me but was vast it seemed with lots of unusual brands to choose from. I had the root beer and it was pretty good. I tried thPhilly cheesese burger and the Rjan Cajun and both were excellent and very tasty. The chips are the main reason to go though. I love they make them fresh to order and are they ever good! Highly recommend if in the area. Small seating though may have to wait for a table.
