Great Value & Delicious to Boot!. We went for the lunch buffet on a Sunday for a very reasonable price of about $13 including tax. (not including the tip yet though) The buffet is very good value for the money- on our visit there was a very interesting cold potato salad type dish called aloo papri chaat (i think that is how it is spelled) It was chunks of marinated potato, chickpea, spices, & fried flatbread pieces- it was wonderfully flavoured with spices , tart & refreshing something that tasted like lemon juice? Very delicious and different from anything we’ve tried at any Indian buffet. There was a soup offered- tomato mint- a bit of a thin soup , but it had very a interesting combination of sour & minty flavouring that was quite unique. Next on the buffet line was the salad section- there was a very delicious diced cucumber/green&red pepper with red onions salad flavoured with lemon juice? & cilantro- it was a type of diced salad that was very refreshing alongside the other dishes- we usually see a boring lettuce type salad- but this item was again- unique to this buffet. There were some deep-fried pakora type items (fish cutlet, eggplant slices & onion rings coated in what seemed to be chickpea flour & deep fried as well as a shredded veggie type nest) Was tasty when drizzled with the tamarind sauce. Next we sampled 2 type of biryani (veggie & chicken) The chicken version had some very nice cinnamon/clove type flavours- very tasty and unique- usually we see only white rice and yellow rice. There was palak paneer – a bit light on the spinach, but fairly generous on the paneer (nice!)- tasted very creamy and delicious- so it was still a hit. The eggplant curry was absolutely delicious- haven’t had this at any other buffet before. Very nice, thick and creamy- went really well with the white rice- there was also naan & fried bread which was replaced fairly often (the restaurant was busy and the turnover was quick) There was a nice pinto bean curry- very tasty. There were several chicken dishes to choose from- chicken tikka masala was very nice , usually we see butter chicken- but the tikka masala offered a nice alternative- slightly sweeter and tangier than plan old butter chicken- very nice. The tandoori chicken wasn’t the best we’ve had, seemed a bit overmarinated- the texture of the meat seemed too soft/mushy- but the flavour was great- slightly BBQ’d charbroiled flavour with garlic & ginger. The chicken korma was creamy and delicious- a nice alternative to butter chicken as well. There was also a goat curry dish- lots of meat goat bits in a savoury sauce. There was a non-memorable dry potato dish. Again, we were surprised when we found idlis on the menu- they came with a sambar you could eat with, or a coconut chutney (we tried this and it was delicious!) For dessert, , there was chai tea (a nice touch that we’ve never seen anywhere else!) mango mousse cake, banana custard, a hot rice pudding type dessert (usually we’ve only see the cold version) and deep fried cheese balls in syrup (can’t remember the name- they see a bit more doughy than cheesy, but they were still quite edible. The serivce was quick and efficient, especially with the water refills. the decor was a lot nicer than we expcted for the inside of a strip mall.\In summary this was a gem of a restaurant, and we will definitely be back next time we visit fargo- I hope this review gives a better picture of how delicious the lunch buffet is & what a terrific value it is.

Friendly owner. The food took awhile for me to develop a taste for it since it’s so different from the usual, but I love it now! They make their own Na’an bread which to me is important. I almost always go for their noon buffet. The waiters are fantastic at refilling water glasses which is good since some of the food is a tad spicy (in a good way).

Best adventure in a new cuisine. Passage to India has a lunch buffet, but I wouldn’t classify it as a buffet restaurant. Having many options when trying Indian food is a wonderful start for those who haven’t had much experience of this deliciously spiced and fragrant food. The service is wonderful, keeping water glasses full and food fresh. I don’t find anything overly spicy, but each item has its own unique flavor. Enjoy some entertaining Indian music videos or the latest Bollywood on the tvs overhead. I don’t find them intrusive, although they seem rather out of place in a very nicely decorated dining room.

Amazing!. This food was phenomenal! My husband and I went for the lunch buffet. I am a vegetarian, and he is a meat eater and we both left very happy! There was a great variety of meats, lentils, vegetables, and so much more… and each dish was delicious! Really, this restaurant was the greatest jewel we found in Fargo!

Worth the trip …… We drove up to Fargo from Winnipeg for an overnight shopping trip. Found this restaurant in the yellow pages and decided to try it. From the outside it looks pretty ordinary – in a strip mall – but we went in and were welcomed by the music, the smiling staff and the amazing smell of Indian spices. We agreed it was some of the best Indian food we’d ever eaten. And really reasonably priced.A year later, we went back to Fargo – we went for dinner on the night we arrived and hung around next day for the lunch buffet. Can’t get enough of this place. Highly recommend it .

I can’t get enough of anything here. I love their beads, soups, and entrees. If you want to try everything come in for the buffet, but in the evening enjoy carefully prepared entrees that will leave you sinfully satisfied. The staff its more than attentive and happy to answer questions and help navigate the menu.
