Awesome Enchiladas. Whenever I’m traveling from Minneapolis to Bismarck, I always make a point to stop here for the mouth watering beef enchiladas. Their hot hot sauce is just the thing to top it all off! If you are looking for authentic Mexican, this may not be your bag. If you are looking for the ND version of tex mex, I highly suggest trying this one out!
Bland food in a dumpy setting.. After I read positive reviews here, I was hoping for something reasonably good. I was disappointed. This is just a local fast food place that lacks charm and flavor. It would be a stretch to call the food mediocre. I got onion rings and a cheese enchilada combo. This was almost $10, and would have still been a bad value at $5. The enchilada was microwaved and yet still cold. The rice part of the combo was okay, but the beans had no flavor and a chalky texture. Blech. The onion rings were the best part – not a good sign for a Mexican place. The restaurant itself is well on its way to dilapidated, which is saying something for a place where the decorative motif is painted cement blocks and vinyl seats patched with duct tape. It seemed clean enough, but dumpy. So, all in all, the facilities were about as good as the staff.Maybe – although I doubt it – the tacos are better, considering it is the Taco Shop. What I got wasn’t good, though, and I would try any other place for Mexican food instead of going back here. For the price, I could have got a decent lunch special at a real restaurant instead of fast food.
Best fried ice cream in town!. Great food! I love that they didn’t dull down their food’s flavor for the Skandanavians around here.
The Great Taco Shop. I went to pharmacy school in the early 70’s and loved the food at the Taco Shop. When I came back for my pharmacy boards a year after graduating I was at the Taco Shop before it opened in the A.M. To my surprise a half dozen of my fellow grads were there already. I haven’t been back since but if I ever get within a hundred miles I will make a special trip. Darryl
My favorite resteruant in town! The food tastes great with it’s Tex Mex style. No problems with staff our service. It could be compared to the Red Pepper (but better).
Best Breakfast Burrito in Town. This place has the best breakfast burrito in town …po’s, sausage, just a hint of bacon. They just don’t open early enough.
The Taco Shop had been around in Fargo since the 60s. It serves by far the best tacos and grinders in the area. The staff is pretty laid back and easily identifies you when you are a regular (like me)!
