Located in Downtown Fargo and apparently popular enough with locals to have spawned a second location it was around 2:00pm that Wrst Bier Hall was found fairly quiet, the lunch crowd having just cleared out and vintage music videos playing on televisions throughout the space.Open now for just under five years, the promise of an extensive Beer list paired to an Oktoberfest atmosphere immediately evident upon entry, it was seated outside the main hall at a picnic table where an unkempt server offered greetings, his mannerism pleasant enough but clothing and grooming making it seem as though he had just gotten up from a long night of partying.Featuring imported Lager, Hefeweissen and Lambic alongside some American Craft Ales with extensive tasting notes, the scope of Taps as well as Bottles admittedly quite impressive, it was turning to reasonably authentic German Cuisine that decisions were made, the giant Pretzel felt probably to be a bit much for just one while three salted Batons intended to be dipped in Beer Cheese were thick, chewy and glistening with Butter.Sad to see that Wrsts and Sausages are not made on-site, though some do come from North Dakota, it was setting aside more common varieties that a $9.75 Exotic comprised of Buffalo and Cheddar was selected, the Casing snappy and interior nicely ground with bits of Cheese throughout while housemade Kuchen offered good Custard but a soggy Crust that was done no favors by already part-melted store-bought Ice Cream. endoedibles.com
The quality of food was fantastic. Portions of appetizers were a little large, in my opinion (which makes them FANTASTIC values).I had the spaetzel mac & cheese with the jalapeno and cheese elk wurst, and it was fantastic.Sampled a bunch of different beers, and thoroughly enjoyed our evening there.
Great food, inspired decor and friendly staff. Enjoyed my meal and would come back if I’m in Fargo again.
Wurst Service in Fargo. Best food! Wurst service waited for an hour for food, then waiter put in a rush then 45 minutes later food came. Talked to a coworker and she indicated she had been there three times and service was terrible and refuses to go back.
Wanted to try something new and unique and that is what I got. Good service with great recommendations. Had the blue cheese sausage with the onions which was great. Great prices for how good the quality of food you receive. Definitely coming back again
OK, ya got me!!. So me being 100% German I have been looking forward to stopping in since there is a lack of German food here since Vi’s Kitchen shut down years ago. I sit down, look at the menu, and what do I order? Yup, the Vietnamise sandwich called the Bahn Mi. Umm, what? Don’t worry, there is a German style sausage instead of roasted pork. I must tell you I was floored with the quality of the pickled veggies, the bread, and really, everything about the amazing $6 sandwich that I had. I will be back to eat it again and to try even more things on the menu. Oh yeah, das bier is zehr gut!!
Ron. When I moved up here I was baffled by the lack of German and Scandinavian restaurants. Sign of the times I guess. ….. But then this placed popped up. Excellent food and great beer selection. I try to stop in once a week.
