Quick lunch with my 4 kids. The service was fast, the food came out fresh and hot. The kids ordered off the $2 menu. They had pancakes and french toast. I had eggs in a basket which was 2 eggs cooked into a cheese bun with hash browns smothered in cheese and bacon and also a side of bacon. The total was $12.84. Good bang for my buck.
Nothing special except those pancake bites. This is a run of the mill Denny’s. Good prices for ok food that usually comes out hot. Generally poor service and not much to say about it. Except for the pancake bites. These are a new little thing where they take the pancake batter, roll it into a ball and deep fry it then serve it with dipping sauce being either icing for the blueberry pancakes or syrup for the regular cinnamon coated ones. I am not a usual fan of blueberries but I loved those bites.

Worst dining experience of my life. Sunday morning, Jan 2009. Busy, but no huge lineups. Got a table for two easily enough. My partner and I ordered the same thing. We waited while we saw two other bigger tables that were seated after us, receive, eat and pay for their meals. I ask about my meal, and they say it will be right up. They bring food to the table, and it is NOT what I ordered. They ask me if I want it anyway, and I say ‘no, I don’t want that bacon, as I am vegetarian’. They go back, and return with part of my meal after some time. The eggs aren’t overhard as ordered, the hashbrowns are undercooked, my toast was ok. My partner’s food was equally badly prepared, but he was starving after waiting so long that he started eating it. I usually don’t raise any issues at restaurants, but I felt the need to speak with the manager. She questioned my version of events, but in the end, let us eat whatever garbage they gave us for free, and gave me a $5 gift card. During the entire course of my time there, the wait staff was stand-offish and not one staff member said sorry for our wait, the food, or the poor service.. and instead I received excuses about the state of such a horrible set of circumstances.
