Good enough to make me a regular. I had lunch here and ordered the combo of one special roll (Dacotah) and one regular roll (Baby Lobster). There are a few local restaurants that serve sushi and I’ve tried all the others except one. This one ranks in the top two for me. As far as price for the amount of food–well you get a LOT of food for what you pay.We sat at the sushi bar, which was elevated enough for us to watch everything they did to our rolls. If you’ve never watched, I would recommend it here because you can see what’s going on. The sushi chefs make everything look so easy and the are efficient without being too showy. I like that they care more about the quality of the food they’re preparing than the show they put on. All the workers are very friendly. Food came quickly. It took us far longer to consume our food than it did for our food to be prepared. I’m pretty sure I’ve tried every single specialty roll now. All are delicious and filling. The plate presentation was better than any other sushi place in town. I go at least once a week and the wait staff knows I prefer the sushi bar and they know my drink order before I even ask.The hours of operation are limited, so check before you go. Hopefully, if business grows, their hours will, too.20 Mar, 2013Great sushi!. I had lunch here and ordered the combo of one special roll (Dacotah) and one regular roll (Baby Lobster). There are a few local restaurants that serve sushi and I’ve tried all the others except one. This one ranks in the top two for me after today. It took us far longer to consume our food than it did for our food to be prepared. Before I give this five stars, I need to try more of the sushi. But between two of us, we ordered two special rolls and two regular rolls. All four were delicious and filling. Soo good!
One of the best restaurants in downtown grand forks! The tempura vegetable is always good, as is the chicken curry noodle! The squid salad as an appetizer is super bright an delightful. The sushi is in my opinion the best in town, but I am no conisseur of fine sushi, but it for sure is my favorite. The most important thing to me is keeping this small local business’s alive, it doesn’t seem that Jeffery had a good experience, but all I ask is help them out by giving it a try for yourself before saying such rude things about a small business trying to stay alive in a town that considers its fine dining to be Olive Garden and ruby Tuesday. Both of which make me sick.
Love it. Glad it is downtown! Try the Dakota Roll.
The only thing worse than the wait staff was the food!. Let me start by saying I have been a strong advocate for culinary variety in grand forks. With that said this restaurant needs to give way to a more talented and deserving establishment. We ordered Chinese style BBQ pork and were convinced it was duck. It was a very dark fatty meat swimming in grease. We at a few bites and it was pushed to the side. The teriyaki chicken appeared to be made from a chicken like meat. The shasimi bowl I had was the worst hack job I’d ever seen on fish several pieces were too tough to chew. I had to place several of these bite size shasimi pieces in my napkin. Again the waitress never suspected anything was wrong at least she was not suspicious enough to as about our experience. I hope this place turns it around quickly or gets out of town to make room for someone else. The best thing I was served here was the water but even at that it was difficult to track down the server in an empty restaurant for a refill. Please don’t eat here.
