Ugh matey. Ah yes, the captain’s cove! We fancied this establishment on a whim. The beer was good as was the service. If you want a case of gut rot or flaming hoop, then this is your place ! If you want a pleasant meal choose someplace else.

Wow…….. The decor was outdated, and the entire restaurant smelled like mold. There were deflated pool toys hung from the ceiling and our utensils were caked with some type of old food. We ordered the calm strips, hoping the food tasted better than the atmosphere looked and smelled. The calm strips tasted frozen, and talk about chewy! The sauce choices were not that great either. The tarter sauce was not balanced, and the cocktail sauce was bland, and the ketchup was sweet, and hot. I ordered the popcorn shrimp and the hickory burger as an entree, still trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. My shrimp and burger tasted frozen and the french fries were just an empty casing deep fried. There was no potato inside. The burger fell apart into chunks, as we took bites. The barbeque sauce was watered down and tasted more like mustard than like a homemade barbeque sauce. My recommendation for this place is to reevaluate your menu, your kitchen , and decor worse place I have ever ate at.

Nice, fast service. The clam chowder was to peppery, it reminded me of a gravy… where are my biscuits? The popcorn shrimp was great! But how do you mess that up? The fish and chips were very enjoyable. Not my favorite place, but not bad. I’ll come back, where else are you gonna find seafood in Minot?
