Lunch, craft beer selection was limited to 2, cheese burger was ok, a bit dry and really no flavor and the cheese had a remnant of being there. Fries were great and the wife’s falafel and kale were excellent. Service was real good. I’m sure there are better burgers in town.

Best burger I have had – maybe ever. We stopped here on a Monday afternoon for early dinner. We went here because the place we had originally wanted was not open on Mondays and this was close. A burger sounded good so I took a very pedestrian route and got a bacon-cheddar burger. I was pleased that I got no guff for ordering it medium rare ( and same for someone in our party who ordered his rare). Where do I start….the bun was just crispy enough. beautiful, tasty, red, tomato slice and nice lettuce. Burger flavor was amazing. Perfectly cooked, nice size. I loved every bite. I highly recommend this place for a very, good burger. They also have Jenni’s ice cream – yum !!!!
The past 5 or 6 times I’ve eaten here or come in for a drink over the past 6 months I have received horrible service. It’s always something different: the bartender was super rude, they forgot to make my drink and served all of their friends instead, my waitress was busy checking her phone instead of grabbing our drinks from the bar, and several other problems. Though the food keeps me coming back, that may eventually change.
What Happened to the Service?. I just got home from Jackie O’s and am really disappointed with the service I received. I went to the Public House side, sat at the bar, and was ignored by the bartender (which felt deliberate since she had no problem providing service to the people sitting on each side of me). After a while she was on the other end of the bar doing dishes, I tried to get eye contact, a brief glance over my way, and back to dishes. I chose to be pro-active and move to her end of the bar, as soon as I moved over there she started a conversation with the two people sitting in front of her. I finally received service when one of the gentlemen she was talking to recognized me and said hello. I enjoy Jackie O’s food, but I don’t enjoy feeling like I am an ***hole who doesn’t deserve service.
Best beer in Athens. Huge selection of craft brews, decent food, great atmosphere. Drank here all through college and still make the trip back now and then to try the new brews.
Great Food Beer and Service. Great Beer! Food ……… Hoppy is happy.
