This is no place for healthy food. Extremely decadent, everything is fried as much as possible here. The fried chicken tasted great, the portions of Chicken and french fries were good. Even the mushrooms were completely fried. Do eat a salad with all the oily stuff. And 4 people can eat within $20. So, a great place.
If you are looking for a healthy menu options, don’t come here. If you are looking to enjoy real soul food in Appalachia, the chicken is excellent quality and selection of sides is tremendous. All parts if the chicken is for sale, hockey gizzard to a chicken patty. Just delicious fried chicken and generous portions.
I dream of this chicken. It has been almost ten years since i graduated from OU, but every time i return i make certain to stop at Miller’s chicken. I lived on first street just a stone’s thrown from Millers and if the wind was right, i could smell the fried chicken from my front porch. Those were glorious days.Millers chicken is hands down the best friend chicken i have ever eaten(especially the thighs). The service was always friendly and i can’t tell you the number of times i found an extra piece of chicken in the bag. I live in Cleveland now and despite my best efforts have failed to find a restaurant that even compares to millers.
Great Chicken. Definitely a MUST visit when in Athens. The chicken is the absolute best in that neck of the woods, and ranks pretty high on my all time favorite chicken places. Miller’s is a small, family owned business that keeps reasonable business hours because they are always busy.
Yearly tradition. We visit Athens from the East coast a few days every year and make Miller’s a part of that visit. We don’t eat fried chicken from anywhere else! Best we have ever had!
BEST EVER. I’m not kidding! Miller’s has been one of my favorites since I was a little girl! Its the only place where I will eat Chicken Gizzards as I’ve tried others in the past and been thoroughly disappointed. I love these so much from here that when I was old enough to know what they were I can’t say I cared all that much. Their chicken is divine and the best part is its all local. Their sides are prepared with attention to detail, you could call it love, and you can taste it in every bite. I typically find that little places like this (holes in the wall) have the best food. I now live in Dayton and every time I’m in Athens, it is a requirement that we stop there and my family knows it, they’ve never dared to try to leave Athens without getting me my Miller’s. If you go to Athens or live there and never try Miller’s Chicken you have no idea what you’ve missed!
Lip smackin’ goood.. Crispy, juicy, perfect chicken-y flavor. Not greasy. Bucket of 10 piece chicken, Pint of macaroni salad, 4 beverages, 19.27. Change from a $20 and deeelicious! 3 thumbs up from our travel group. :)If you’re there for lunch get in before noon or face a line!Also homemade potato salad, cole slaw, or ranch beans. I’m sure all were just as good. Nice pie selection as well. If you order soda, pull it out of the coolers yourself and pick a spot, your food will be soon arriving. YUM!
