Delicious & Fun. We’re in Athens several times a year and we never visit without eating at Salaam… I wish they were here in Charlottesville. It’s getting harder to get a table on some weekends, but well worth a few minutes’ wait.
Fabulous….Fabulous….Fabulous. I’ve lived in Athens for 38 years and have eaten at many restaurants in the area. But last night, I had the best meal EVER in Athens at Restaurant Salaam. The Moroccan Chicken special was perfectly prepared, absolutely delicious and beautiful to look at! Gorgeous, delicious, fabulous….what else can I say? If you’re in Athens…..don’t miss Restaurant Salaam….or you will miss a real gem!
Perfect for Dates or Friends!. The atmosphere is amazing; definite Mediterranean vibe, comfortable seating- not claustrophobic or cramped, ethnic music, and relaxed lighting. The food itself is phenomenal. Chicken B’steeya was a major hit with my girlfriend and I fell in love with my Harira and Baba Gannouj. And the prices are right!I have been here with my friends, my family, and my girlfriend. We all have loved the service and the meals we have experienced. I have spent time in the Middle East and the flavor profile is spot on with what I experienced, perhaps not as intense but I can honestly say its close. I am also positive that the staff would be willing to do what they could to intensify to order if I ask. You cannot go wrong with choosing this meal for any event or occasion whether or not you love Mediterranean cuisine.
I don’t really know how to explain my experience here. The staff was friendly and proper. The food was good. The atmosphere was pleasant. For me though, I found myself wanting more. I felt as though I might have perceived this restaurant differently before attending. I was expecting very unique cuisine, which it was at times. It’s just me. Everything was great. I’ll go again. I just didn’t want to order something I can chef up at home myself.
Salaam in Athens, Ohio. I have a fairly severe allergy to wheat gluten and the staff at Salaam was awesome, helping me find the best options for me on the menu. I did find the menu to be a bit limited in options but the chicken Shish Kabob and salad were awesome!! The side of rice pilaf was very small (about 4 spoonfuls) but tasted great. I took my food to go and it was still hot when I arrived at my hotel 15 minutes later. The town of Athens is awesome and I cant wait to return there again soon. My first stop will be at Salaam.
