I am a dairy free pescatarian, and village bakery is one of the few places with multiple awesome menu items for me, which I don’t mind paying more for. However, customer service is unfriendly and also unhelpful. Not greeted as I walked in and did not feel welcome when ordering at the register. I also ordered a drink from the cafe menu and was told there was not enough left for a full drink. I guess they did not want to make more, and they did not offer to give me what was left at a discounted price. Will only give this place a couple more tries, or order to go.

Would Try Only Once. I went to this location on East State Street. The people there, and the staff were rude. They already knew the menu, and knew what they wanted. There is very little room when the counter is crowded. If you are allergic to spelt, or any kind of nut or whole grain this isn’t the place to eat. The parking is also bad.

Just okay for me. I’d heard the hype but felt this place was a little too talked up. The cupcake was very dry. The salad greens bitter. The chai was shockingly cold and minty. Not my thing. Not awful, but I won’t be back. Also parking is a nightmare.

I would be lying if I said that I went into Village Bakery with a love of organic ingrediants, but I’ve never eaten anything from there that I didn’t like. Try the Georgian Cheese Pastry for a great breakfast treat.
