Turning into a dive. I’m usually pretty happy with the service and food here, but tonight I was really disappointed. The place smelled like a hole in the wall bar and we waited almost 15 minutes to have our drink orders taken. I ordered a Bloody Mary with bacon, got no bacon, no celery, no lime, no spice – it tasted like just tomato juice! I question if there was even vodka in it! They changed their menu again and offer even less food. Going down hill fast…
Cool place. Fun place to hang out and some interesting choices on the menu. I especially like the sandwiches on the pretzel bun. The place isn’t as noisy as the Red Robin next door and offers more than just fish and burgers. If you’re looking for someplace a bit more adventurous, check out the Fox and Hound.
Tuesdays ROCK. My partner and I headed over to Fox & Hound last Tuesday, because it’s $2 beer day….When any draft is $2, I feel it’s a moral imperative to go as often as one’s schedule allows. We got there, sat in the room off of the main area and proceeded to wait for someone to tell us what the marvelous beer options were. We probably were really only there five minutes, when a server came to our table, apologized profusely for our wait and gave us the beer list. When she came back for our beer orders, she said she was going to get us a free appetizer for our inconvenience. We didn’t complain, she just threw that out there, so we took it. The boneless wings were quite good.I had the crispy fish sandwich, thinking it would be as good as the regular fish in the fish and chips. It was good, but it was a tiny piece….the bun was WAY bigger than the fish. But the fries were good as always. I mainly got that because it supposedly came with cole slaw. It did, but it was in one of the little metal cups like you get ketchup or tartar sauce in. Not so cool, as I like their cole slaw.My partner got a French dip flatbread pizza (I think that’s what it’s called). It was ok. It was HUGE, but really just ok. Here’s my thing. While we didn’t necessarily make great food choices this time, we’ve never had a horrible dining experience at Fox & Hound. We’ve always found the people to be very, very friendly and have been very attentive to things we did think were not quite right. We’ve both sent fries back because they just weren’t hot. We’ve never gotten grief, we’ve never ever left complaining about the service or the atmosphere. With my new iPhone app, we’re also pretty much guaranteed $5 off food just for walking in the door (provided I earn enough playing games), so that’s another plus. Bottom line is this: They have one of the best selections of craft beers anywhere around here. The people are nice, the food is palatable even when it’s not to die for (fish and chips — that’s some good eatin’) and did I mention drafts are $2 on Tuesday?
Your local CHEERS. This is a great place to come after work. There is a great mix of people there. On Tuesdays the special is $2.00 drafts on all 36 on tap. It is also a great place to watch the UFC fights !
It was so much fun!!! Our waiter was great, if you go ask for Stanton!
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Well I have gone here on and off since they opened usually during lunch and I must ask, what the heck has happened? The food and service is on the downward spiral. If you’re going to be a sports bar and offer standard bar food at least be good at it. Why bother asking how someone wants a burger cooked if you’re just going to turn it into a well done disc or worse hockey puck. I think the last 3 times I have been here I have asked for medium and I get well done, which frankly isn’t a good burger. I can go to Wendy’s for that kid of burger. Fries should not be cold, chips and salsa when the chips are like rocks this is a problem and for god’s sake take the fish and chips OFF the menu, they’re not even remotely passable as fish and chips, I have watched many people order them and sorely be disappointed.I hate to cross a place off the lunch rotation when there are so few decent ones in the area to begin with but it’s going, going, GONE
Better than average beer selection. Place gets crowded fast, so be sure to get there before peak hours hit. Food quality is lacking somewhat, and for those who remember the original location in Centerville, game room space is extremely limited with no dart board! I,d give it 2.5 stars out of 5.
