Authentic and delicious! A little hidden from the chaos of the mall, but definitely close enough to try something a little special. Prices are great too.

There are seldom restaurants that I visit that almost everything we try is delicious, but somehow La Columbiana pulled this feat off with flare. We tried sweet plaintains, tostones, empanadas with beef, arroz con pollo with chicken and shrimp, and beans. The decor was personalized with pictures from the city as well as the beaches. My favorite photo was one of the columbian farmers market. The atmosphere was nice, the service was great, but the food was the star of the show! I enjoyed the different take on the tostone. La Columbiana makes their signature tostones flat and very crispy. The empanadas were also with a twist. They had boiled chunks of potatoes in each one. The outside of each empanada was very crispy but the inside was moist and delicious. Everything was flavored rather well, all that I would say was I would have liked to have seen more queso fresco on any and everything! I will be back to this place. Also everything was cheap, we ordered almost the entire menu and the bill was only 37$. Everything was made to order, how great is that?

The food is cooked fresh so you have to wait awhile to be served. However the wait was worth it. I had the big peasant platter. It was amazing. The steak had an awesome marinated flavor.

Some good and bad things. Empanadas have NO FLAVOR… they come in chicken beef or veggie. But they are 90% potato filled… barely any meat. Don’t waste your time. Steak was sooo thin they could not cook it to anything less than medium well. So if you like properly cooked steak rare, or medium rare skip it!. Flavor of the steak, chorizo, and pork belly was fantastic. I will eat here again just not steak or empanadas.

Good honest food. If you are looking for a meal that you can actually taste the food itself and not have it hidden behind overt sauces and add ons, this is the place for you. I was offered the daily lunch special of potatoes, carrot, cold cabbage salad with chicken and soup over rice and was very pleased. This will become one of my go to lunch spots now.
