Excellent food and price. We used to visit Nothing But Noodles (NBN) on Brown Street and liked the simple college town atmosphere, the simple, straightforward food and fair pricing. Then the establishment closed, much to our dismay.Last night (4/7/2012), we were at the Greene Mall, initially intending to go to Joya’s Bistro- which was closed (even though the time was before 9pm, and their stated operating hours are 10 am- 11pm on Fri and Sat; this establishment would not even pick up the phone).On our way out, we decided to stop in at Noodles and Co. (NAC), which from all appearances, is rather similar to NBN. The time was barely 1/2 hour before their closing time. Yet, the young lady who took our orders was gracious with a smiling face. We ordered relatively simple fare from the reasonably large list of options. The prices were very modest, and from past experience at NBN, we knew that the noodles, soups or sandwiches would be simple and flavorful, and the servings generous.NAC did not disappoint. The food was served with very little wait. My daughter’s Mac & Cheese was served in a large bowl, and she tells me it was very good. She should know, since her gastronomic fancy does not go much beyond Mac&Cheese.My wife had ordered the Spicy Chicken Caesar, and my son the Indonesian Peanut Sauce noodles bowl. Each item was rated certifiably good. Most of all, I am writing this about the Veggie Med sandwich that I had ordered. This simple, modestly priced item was a real delight. Finely sliced roasted bell peppers, red onions, mushrooms, cucumber and cilantro were loaded on to a wonderfully soft and delicious flatbread, topped with bright green spinach leaves and crumbled feta cheese, all mildly doused in a zesty Mediterranean dressing. This was delicious food done with amazing simplicity. In some ways, it gave me more pleasure than the much more well-known Mediterranean flatbread treats such as falafels, lamb shwarmas and the like.Altogether, NAC offered a wonderful albeit simple dining experience, where money was not spent paying for ambience and music (even though those two were also present here to a pleasing extent), but for satisfying one’s hunger in a pleasant environment. I rate my experience A+.

Great, simple pasta at a decent price. Portions are generous. The Penne Rosa is where it’s at!

Noodles & Co. was created for pasta lovers!. I’ve tried each pasta on the menu and they’re all delicious! The prices are decent too. I usually order a trio with Caesar Salad, Penne Rosa or Pasta Fresca or Wisconsin Mac & Cheese, and Parmesan Crusted Chicken or Tofu. If you like spicy, try the Indonesian Peanut Saute or spice up the Wisconsin Mac & Cheese with Sriracha (rooster) sauce available on each table.
