As much as i dont like to admit it… i liked it. If you are expecting decent bbq and great value… it delivers. This isnt gourmet food people… but i went there with my son after a fball game and we shared the city sampler platter… only eating 1/3 of what we got. Briskett, pulled pork, chicken, AND1/2 SLAB OF RIBS! ALL of it was smoked and tasty. It also came with 2 sides (the gumbo was below average but the fries were great)… AND cornbread AND texas toast. Expect a bbq experience and they deliver!!!! Kid friendly… plenty of condiments and selection!
Lost It’s Charm. Things have changed at what used to my favorite BBQ place. It has taken place over the last year. We have had some tough meat and poor service at what once was the most consistant place you could imagine. I hope they get the point.03 Feb, 2011Southern Charm. I spent 13 years in Dallas and I love everything about CB. The sweet tea is best when mixed half and half with their lemonade…the ribs and briscuit are always spot on….and who does not love a great pulled pork sandwich! Put this one on your list.
Had This Catered for my Grad Party. This is by far the absolute best BBQ in the neighborhood! Always a treat, and yes, I had trays of pulled pork, brisket, green beans, and baked beans for my graduation party. Just so tasty….and I’ve been to Memphis too! Only thought the ribs were kinda dry, but that was only a one time experience. I will try them again. Yum.
First Experience Just OK. Most BBQ places in Cincy don’t offer hush puppies. City BBQ does and that’s why I went. The hush puppies did not disappoint and the pulled pork was fairly good. I was not all that impressed w/the sides (they were barely warm). The corn bread was not hot and tasted greasy.
The food is not bad and the mac and cheese is really good. The service is some thing that really needs to improve. Our food sat in the window about 5 minute before we had to ask for it because the staff was to busy closing and cleaning….it’s was only 9 and they close at 10! AND DONT GET THE TEA OR LEMONAIDE…just trust me on this!
Best BBQ you can get in Cincinnati. Their pulled chicken is amazing – and that’s saying a lot for me because I rarely enjoy the taste of meat. It’s so juicy and tender, and consistently good. Also I love their corn pudding (though more like a corn casserole texture-wise). Their sweet tea is also pretty good, not as good as McAllister’s but my drink of choice when I go there.
Great for catering a party! Affordable, fun and fantastic!
