Was quite disappointed. Mostly bread and sauce tasted like a chain/Pizza Hut. Lots of options in the area - I would skip this place.…

Decent pizza but is it worth the wait and the slow service? Don’t be in a rush for lunch…. I’ve dined here twice before writing a review. The first time, my husband and I ordered a pizza, and like Dewey’s, you’re able to order it half one-way and half the other. This is great for us, since he’s a carnivore and I prefer more veggies on my pizza. The crust was really good, crispy and not too doughy. The pizza wasn’t over-sauced and the red sauce wasn’t overly sweet or acidic. The downside? First, this isn’t cheap pizza, although the prices are comparable to Dewey’s and Uno’s. Second, it’s the service. Yes, it was crowded but service was abysmally slow. Keep in mind that the pizzas do take a while to cook, but that’s no excuse for a 10 minute wait to place a drink order or another 10 minutes to get our drinks and then place our order.I wasn’t especially impressed, but the pizza was decent so I was willing to give it another go.The second time, we called in a carry out order that consisted of two Enlightened Spinach Salads and one Caesar Salad. Added chicken to all three and requested the dressing be served on the size. We were told 30 minutes, but when I arrived at the 30 minute mark, it was another 10 minutes before the meal came out (the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded either).Pros: each order of chicken was placed in a separate container and served hot. The dressings were on the sides. The portions were generous.Cons: the staff placed my order on the bar (six containers total) and then walked over to another customer to take his order. I had to ask for a bag AND for flatware for a to go order.Overall, I’m not especially impressed. I’d rather drive to VoA for Dewey’s, where the service is decent and I don’t have to prompt for the basics.
Went for lunch today, not overly crowded, food came out in a timely matter and service was good. The food is just ok, I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. Nothing really special about the place really. If they really want to impress me they should invest in a brick oven. Not sure that I’ll go back for just ordinary food.
Good beer but no happy hour prices. Pretzels but made from pizza dough??? (That’s called a bread stick). The pizzas are on par with Deweys and some different flavors. I may go back a few more times but its an expensive hangout.
Gluten and Dairy free!. I enjoyed their gluten free pizza crust and dairy free cheese, which allowed me to actually enjoy pizza. However, it was not great re-heated and the crust only comes in one size, so be sure you want to share it or have a large appetite! The wait is always long here, and the food is generally average. Nothing special unless you need GF, DF, or organic food.
My experience wasn’t bad. I’ve only gotten carryout for lunch from this location, so I can’t say that I’ve experienced the horrendous waiting times that some of the other reviewers claim to have gone through.I’ve had a few different pizzas from here and I thought they were pretty good. This last time I had the Kosmic Karma, which I actually really liked. While the soggy spinach and overly-rich sun-dried tomatoes didn’t do anything for me, the rest of the pizza carried it. Their crust, which is buttery and soft and has parmesan cheese sprinkled on it, is damn good.Dewey’s still reigns as king of the pizzas for me though. I’d settle for Mellow Mushroom if need be, but don’t go here expecting to get Dewey’s quality pizza.
Fun and delicious. To everyone complaining about the wait, call ahead! You can get on a list. The pizza is great, I’ve been here twice now and can’t wait to go back. The crust is delicious (they put molasses in it), and our waiter was excellent! Lots of options for beer lovers, my fave pizza so far is the Philosopher’s Pie, an amazing blend of ground steak, artichoke and portobello. On the negative side, I tried the pretzels, they were nothing special. It tastes just like the pizza crust, so you’re better off just eating the crust off your pizza, it’s free! I also didn’t care for the mushroom soup it was uh, earthy. So I’m still experimenting with the appetizers. I also want to try the brownie, sounds delicious, but I’m always too stuffed after a record two slices of pizza. One more thing! Once you start going, they give you a $5 off coupon just for filling out a survey! I do it every time, it helps keep the price down.
By FAR best Pizza in Town!!. This is by far the best pizza – fresh ingredients, hand tossed in front of you – not the quickest pizza but once you taste it you figure out why! We ate here on vacation all the time, now have one right in our back yard – amazing food all around and amazing craft beer selection! The wait was rough at first (still worth it), but it is managleable now – they don’t seem as slammed.
