Camp Washington is very cute. The decor is reminiscent of the 50s, and the service is good. Their chili is a bit bland, but I like their coneys. I wouldn’t pick it over Skyline or Price Hill Chili, but it’s good!
The hangover spot. Good chili and breakfast but nothing special. Breakfast is great for hangovers, and service is average. Nice diner atmosphere. However, I recently got charged $17 after leaving a $3 tip on a $9 bill. I will not be returning for awhile.
I just don’t get it!. I have never understood why this place can be considered the best in town. The interior is charming and reminiscent of the diner’s of the 50’s. The service is fine. The chili itself, however, is extremely bland meat gruel with little seasoning or flavor, with all the traditional 3-way fixins. If you are an out of towner who is trying Cincinnati Chili for the first time, there are several places that will make a better impression for you, such as Blue Ash Chili, Empress Chili (the original!) or one of the several Skyline Chili locations around town.
It’s the only Cincinnati chili worth spending time on. Especially at 2 am. Love it.
A shadow of it’s former self….Over the last ten or so years since yhe move this place has gotten worse and worse as far as the chili goes. My latest trip (and likely LAST) was a disappointment with watered down, tasteless gruel over over-cooked limp spaghetti. Sorry excuse for cincy chili. When I mentioned the tasteless nature of my 4 way, John the owner got indignant and snippy about it. I have eaten here often since the late 80’s and won’t be back.
It’s the real thing. Camp Washington Chili has been there forever since the forties and with the same owners. You get what we got for years, no better no worse. You can’t say it was better or worse years ago. They had to build a new building because the redesigned the roadway and it is prettier but the food is still the same: Good enough to be around forever but best at two thirty A.M. when the bars close. It is worth a detour. Warning: I may be taking them for granted after more than a half century of patronization.
Where is it?. Who ever started this review is even a idiot or has never been to Camp Washington Chili. One Camp Washington Chili is located in Camp Washington. The neighborhood is near North Fairmount and no where near any part of Price Hill.Yet you have Camp Washington chili located in two neighborhoods that it’s not named after.Next time you write about a landmark on the westside have the balls to come to the westside and see where it’s at!
