Went there before the Lewis black show. This place is horrible. They can’t tell you how long a wait it is, they have no notification system, they can’t even notify you via house pa system. You have to periodically return to the hostess and check and for over an hour the status never changed. Everyone was rude as possible from the hostess to the bartenders. Talking to others as we waited at the bar everyone had the same opinion.
Went here before a concert at the Civic Theatre next door for the first time in awhile and the service was 10x better than it was a year ago. There was a short wait for a table so we grabbed a drink at the bar while we waited (Can’t believe how cheap the happy hour specials are!). Both bartenders were VERY attentive despite having a bar full of people. When we were sat at table our server came right to us and took our order, which didnt take long at all. In and out in less than 45 mins, including the short wait for a table. Food was delicious and they even had live entertainment. Perfect place to go before going to the Civic to catch a show.
What an awesome place! Food and drinks were great! I loved the staff, service was top notch. Everyone was friendly and helpful. #1 spot in akron!!!
Went here last week for lunch. Sat at the bar with a friend. The bartender was very knowledgable about the specials and menu. My friend and I got Reuben egg rolls for an appetizer (which were amazing), I would highly reccomend them. I got the Roo burger for my meal and she got the Cajun steak and potato wrap! Both came out hot and right after our appetizer was finished! It’s like she timed it out perfectly! The drinks were fairly priced and the atmosphere/service was great! I will definitely be back to the Akron barley house!
I am new to the Akron area and was looking for a place to go and just grab some food and possibly a beer after a long, stressful day at work. When I walked through the door I was greeted by the hostess who immediately made me feel welcomed. She proceed to seat me and I was blown away by how cool it looked inside! It’s a cool mix of a sports bar and and Irish pub -so many tv’s, I will definitely be back to watch some games! Anyways i was really contemplating on if i should get a beer, but i decided i did once my server (Amanda) rattled off the WHOLE tap list and drink specials! my food was great! I had ordered the firehouse burger , if you like spicy things, this is just the thing to get! As an appetizer I ordered the cheddar filled pretzel bites – AMAZING! The service I had was incredible , my server knew exactly what she was talking about . I will definitely be back here and bring the new friends I will make! Thank you barley house for making my first akron experience a great one! See you soon!
Loved It!!. I went into The Barley House two Saturdays ago for lunch and had the greatest experience! It was a large group of us so first we ordered the Pub Platter and the Cheesy Sticks as an appetizer. Everything was delicious and came out very quickly and piping hot! For an entree I ordered the Smokehouse Turkey Club with the sweet potato tater-tots (who knew those existed??!!!) and it was unbelievable! I literally now crave that turkey club!! As for drinks they had a wonderful beer selection, it was hard for me to even pick out what I wanted between bottles and drafts. But our server was very knowledgeable and friendly with helping us all out and letting us know everything they had and what it was comparable to! She even rattled off the whole draft beer list for us! (Thanks again Lauren!) Our experience at The Barley House was a great one and we will for sure be returning in the very near future! Great location, great food, great service, awesome atmosphere! You can’t beat that in Downtown Akron!
