This is a love letter to Diamond Deli: if I ever had to request a last meal, your Rueben sandwich would be a contender.
Great place to eat in Akron. I have to say that I was very impressed with the food and service at this location in Akron. I would highly recommend a visit whenever in the area. Great prices too!
THE best PERIOD!. So we’re from Philadelphia PA, where there are fantastic delis everywhere competing for your business. We have tried to find a great sandwich joint all over NE Ohio and none compare to this place. THE VERY BEST CORNED BEEF IN NE OHIO – period!!!!! Lean and flavorful! My eating partner had never ever tasted corned beef and she loved it. If this place is open and you got a hankering for a sandwich GO HERE! If they’re closed – head to Zubs but skip the corned beef until they’re open again. BEST SAMMICH SHOP in NE Ohio – in three plus years of trying to find better.
An Akron Icon. Let’s put it this way…..everything at the deli is fresh. It is always packed. Around the dining room people are waiting in line. Chuck runs the place, and knows everyone! Everyone in line is laughing and joking – you just have to go and try it. Any of the sandwiches are great…..any of them. But if you like a reuben, this is place to get it. ALWAYS.
Diamond Deli. A masterclass in consistency. The food quality is always high and they never change ingredients, bread bakeries, recipies, etc. The pastrami and corned beef sanwiches are peerless while the chili is prototypically delicious Ohio chili.
YUM. There is always a line out of the door when you go for lunch. A lot of sandwich selections, good matzo ball soup but you have to dump a ton of salt into it. Good service, the guys behind the deli case are always charming…that’s right, I said charming. Well…maybe entertaining and friendly are better words to describe. It’s a fun & inexpensive place to go for lunch.
What a sandwich!. OK so there’s nothing that ‘s not SCRUMPTIOUS in the Diamond! I’ve been going here for over 10 years and i am pleased as punch every time. All the soups and stews or area great, love the hustle and bustle, big quiality packed sandwiches. O just go there already!
