Was just there tonite…must say hes come a long way since he has opened. I am kinda muffed about a cpl of things. Food is still good..service good…but this is North Akron man!!! Charging $2.50 for a SODA when offering alcohol for not much more is aweful!!! And the same side of guacamole costing $3.50 (yes!!!)…is about half the size it used to be. Dude…i was there when you first opened…..no joke…if you start doing petty things like this….im sorry…but u will lose a faithful customer of— 7-8 years??? Plz dont start getting cheap…it ruins a business and your respect from your loyal patrons……..
This place is amazing!! I grew up in Texas so I know what real Mexican food is and this place is phenomenal!! Everything is great about it!
Exciting find in NE Ohio. Having lived in the American SW for years, I found it nearly impossible to find satisfying Mexican food up here. Thus, I am happy to have found this little place. I absolutely loved the chorizo enchiladas. My date wanted tamales; unfortunately, the night we went, they had sold out. So he ordered some little fried taquitos, which were pretty good. Beans and rice had to be ordered separately but did not disappoint. All in all, good flavors though portion sizes were a bit small. I will be back soon for those enchiladas!
Yes, I would recommend this place to a friend.. I was going to Ranchero’s damn well close to every Wednesday for $1 taco night for over a year, perhaps we bumped into one another. The owner, David, is both an excellent cook and friendly to all customers. All of the food is delicious, some of the best Mexican I’ve had that isn’t in Central America. The service on busy nights may not be as quick as you might hope for, but the employees are all busting their asses to serve you as quickly as possible. Just relax, enjoy the best salsa around, and indulge in the best Mexican in Akron. I now live in Cleveland and make the pilgrimage only once every month or so, but many-a-good times were had at Ranchero’s.
Real mexican food. I am Mexican and I know good tacos. Ranchero’s taqueria has been my best discovery in Akron. The food is fresh and the menu authentic. Best of the menu: tacos de carnitas, tacos al pastor.
Authentic, tasty Mexican food. Open every day of the week, this place has great Mexican food. Normal Americanized food as well as more authentic choices. Very friendly owner and staff, comfortable dining room. They have a half dozen or so lunch specials- I stop there to get one to go when I get the chance. Love this place.
The owner / chef is awesome. Dave, the guy that runs the place, is an amazingly friendly guy. The menu and Ranchero’s is a little different than most Mexican restaurant’s in the area, so the menu can be a little confusing at first. However, Dave is happy to explain anything and everything on the menu to you.The style of Mexican here is, again, a little different. It’s my understanding that it is more like traditional southern Mexican food, and not the tex-mex style that most places serve. You HAVE to try the Orchata (beverage). I’ve only ever enjoyed Orchata at Ranchero’s, but my coworker who is well-versed in Orchata that is served in NE Ohio swears that Ranchero’s Orchata is the best.
